Rooms were okay but hallway carpet very dirty
Very busy hotel over railway station, found it difficult to get from station to hotel probally took three days to find our bearings then it was time to leave. Not a hotel or area for children.
I normally stay at Shinjuku, but this time I'm glad I chose Shibuya Excel Hotel. Our room on 21st floor was spacious, clean with view and price is better than Shinjuku. Breakfast buffet is good, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is a...More

This hotel was just fine - the room was clean and comfortable (albeit relatively small by some standards, but I understand that that is normal for Tokyo). It is really well-located for exploring Tokyo and the staff were very helpful.

There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.
At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.

Pretty sure it was exit 12 and 13 that were the closest. And yes it is all covered from the rain and weather and there is an elevator that takes you to the entry door of the hotel. From there you go to level 5 reception. There are signs underground that indicate the way to Mark City shopping centre - follow those as the hotel is inside this shopping centre.
