Venturing out of our comfort zone and making the trip from Pickering, Canada to Tokyo, we wanted to make sure that we had a good chance at convenience, safety and comfort. Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku hit all three bells!! Spent a wee bit more and had a king room (Japanese style room 1353) that was snug by western standards but spacious...

Great location and very good hotel. Very centrally located near train station and other transpo. Near good Restos and shopping. Hotel staff were efficient . Room was large. Price was just right. They have bus shuttle to airport . I would strongly recommend this hotel to couples, family and for business travelers.

Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku has always been our favorite hotel in Tokyo. Things we like: near Shinjuku station and major shopping areas; good breakfast; clean and good-sized rooms; efficient service; reliable and fast internet service. Prices have gone up over the years but still remains a good value compared with similar hotels. We'll be back!

This is a nice and clean hotel, with direct bus connection to the airport. Other than that, I did not find anything special. The room was small. The service was average (e.g., unlike other hotels, they will request you to tag your own bags for the bus trip). Their breakfast caters to non-vegetarians. The vegetarians will find very few good...

Not super great, but pretty good. The best thing about this hotel is the reasonable cost and great location. It's a 5 minute walk from Shinjuku Station and it is not costly. It is also very close to a 7-11 which is great if you need snacks or have a foreign card and need to find an ATM that will...

It was a very good experience . The location is great , close to the station but not in front of it. Relatively quiet area ( talking Tokyo ) a lot of little restaurants and convenience stores around. I the room you need everything you need and more. Nice spa with good massage specialists . Excellent breakfast ! Recommend .

This negative encounter at the reception gave me a very bad start to my holiday in Tokyo. I have actually booked and paid for a Economy Double Room at Sunroute since January this year. Thereafter, I was considering a Twin Bed room which could be better as I was travelling with my mum if there is any such room available,...

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights and are really hope with this choice. The location in Shinjuku is very convenient with a metro station next to it. The airport limousine coach stops here for ¥1,000 and the return trip starts here for the same fare. It's within a walking distance to JR Shinjuku station. There are many good...

This is the first time here in this hotel. I was told that this one has small room but I think for this price it is more than reasonable. I spend my last trip at a 5 stars hotel not far away. This trip we spend 3 days there and moved to this one. I will say for half the...

Really great location - the room was clean, easy to get to from the train and good places to eat around it! I would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. Staff was lovely - so helpful with dinner recommendations and when we lost something in the hotel by leaving it in our room after check out.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
