Pros Brilliant location close to Shinjuku JR station, a short walk to Shinjuku and Kabukicho, and easy access to subway lines. Friendly and efficient staff, clean rooms, no smoking allowed anywhere, fairly large rooms for the price, convenient coin laundry facilities provided on several floors. Free in-room wifi. Airport transfer pickup point very conveniently located outside hotel. Cons Room layouts...

We stayed here in 2010 BUT Tripadvisor wont let me go back that far sorry. But,very comfortable rooms, all that we needed as a couple. A great location in order to get to different areas of Tokyo and of course walking distance to the Metro. Breakfast included.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during our recent visit to Tokyo. We used the airport bus to get here which dropped us off very close by. We had a nice triple room and it was spacious enough for the three of us. Yes, the hotel could do with some modernising, but runs efficiently and...

Excellent location in Shinjuku and very good value. The best thing actually happened after my stay since I've left valuables in my room. The management found them and kindly shipped to my home (international shipping). I would stay here next time again.

Hotel is conveniently located next to a station with a lift (great if you have luggages). Room is a bit out-dated especially the toilet. Would be good if they offer concierge services as reception is quite far in from the front doors. The queue for breakfast each day was about 15-20 mins. Suggest hotel add more tables in the restaurant...

This hotel is in a great location, close to the train station and within walking distance of nice restaurants and shops, our room was very quiet. We did not use any of the facilities in the hotel but the staff we dealt with were pleasant and friendly, the room was comfortable and clean although a little small for us but...

This hotel is close to the bustling Shinjuko railway station. I found the room to be of adequate size, the bathroom was extremely functional and supplied everything you needed for a comfortable size. The wi fi was free and fast. Overall this hotel ticked all the boxes for a comfortable Tokyo stay.

Stayed here for one night after a 10 hour flight. I picked this hotel for our first night in Japan because the airport limousine bus drops you off here from Narita. The price of the hotel is very reasonable and I was impressed with how nice the hotel was! The restaurant and hotel looked very chic and clean. The hotel...

Hotel was clean and well stocked with amenities. The location of the hotel was very convenient and right next to Shinjuku main station. This is our second trip to Tokyo and we never fail to stay here! Only thing was the room was pretty small but I Guess you can't really complain since all Tokyo rooms are small generally.

Stayed 5 nights at Sunroute Shinjuku. Our 4th time in 5 years at the same hotel. Because.. 1) Easy to get here. Hotel is just 5 mins walk from Shinjuku West Exit where Airport Limousine bus stops from Narita or Haneda. 2) High concentration of good restaurants and shopping. For breakfast we recommend Gontran Cherrier. Another favourite is value-for-money conveyor...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
