The staff here are friendly and helpful but the facilities are lacking. The one elevator for this 10 story building is old, slow and will close on you on entry. Bathrooms on each floor are somewhat dirty and the basement toilets out of order. Good for a single night cheap stay, I wouldn't base a longer Shinjuku stay here.

I stayed with 2 other mates on a 2 week trip in Tokyo. Location was good, about few minutes from Shinjuku railway station. Capsule styled accommodation, great community room. If your main purpose is to simply sleep and recharge, I'd recommend this place. The Asahi vending machine was a winner

Ace Inn was a great base for first time visitor to Tokyo. It is very central. The staff are incredibly helpful with heaps of insights about what to do. They provided all the basics like towels, body wash, shampoo. The wifi worked well when I was there.

Very well connected with the subway. but the JR line is good 2kms from the hostel. the showers are in the basement and can be used only for 10mins in one go. The common area is disappointing as it was always mostly empty.

Capsule style with confortable beds and curtain that gives you privacy. Beds are futon but to me it is really comfortable. Place is clean, well maintained. Staff is lovely and really helpfull! Super good location in Tokio. Only minus is the kitchen not really equipped... Misses some pans to cook. But I ll definitely recommend it

Staff was very nice, place is very close to subway (1 min) and well placed in the city, but you get what you paid for: cheap price = crappy place. The beds consist of futons placed on hardwood boards, so it's very hard and absolutely unconfortable (both in dormitory and capsules). Apparently, you can't have an extra futon, only extra...

Staff very friendly and helpful. About 15 min walk to some nice tourist spots like Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shinjuku garden and Meiji Shrine Capsules were comfortable to sleep in (though if tall >1.85m may be an issue) - good sound isolation but not much else, disappointed by lack of electricity inside capsules and extremely dim lighting, and how out of the...

This is the perfect Japanese hostel. It's centered around college-aged travelers. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They speak great English and have a good knowledge of the train system in Japan. The capsule beds are cozy, but plenty big. I was afraid I would be claustrophobic but that was not the case at all. I felt very safe...

Great hostel which is so close to the Subway and everything Tokyo has to offer. Helpful desk staff and clean facilities. Showers are down in the basement but that's not an issue. Would recommend to other travellers.

The staff are beyond excellent. Booking everything for you if you need. English speaking is good. Good capsules, mattress is very thin but for the price and location you can forgive it. Free showers and towels with great wifi too. Located right next to akebonobashi subway stop and just a few minutes from Shinjuku.

Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
