I've stayed at other capsule hotels before so I have no problem with the system of keeping my suitcase downstairs etc. However, this hotel forces you to check out of the hotel at 10am everyday. So, by 10am, you must be fully washed, have cleared your locker and have fully packed your suitcase. At least, I hope you have, because...

I was excited to experience the novelty of sleeping in a capsule hotel. The experience was great...and I actually enjoyed the jinbei (robe and shorts) that we were provided. I liked the novelty and I'm not complaining about noise or comfort, because it is what it is...but since I have to rate the hotel, not the experience, I have to...

We chose to stay in the hotel for one evening just for the experience of staying in a capsule hotel. As the name suggest and given the price, i didnt expect much. But it turns out a reasonable nice experience. Facilities are clean and sufficient. Staying guess is in well mannered given the tight space. Overall worth the visit.

If your are claustrophobic, if you don’t like second hand smoke, if you too shy to have a full nude communal bath or if you can’t handle walking through a red light district, DON’T STAY HERE. If you are looking for a unique cultural experience, if you are on a tight budget, you like hot, hot baths and you want...

I arrived in Japan from Vietnam and it was a three day weekend. Checked a lot of hotels in the area and all were booked. Checked online and nothing, checked as far north as Sendai and as far south as Osaka. Everything was booked. Next plan was to find a capsule hotel and I found this one. All of the...

AVOID! What a strange, dingy, shocking hotel. This place is stinking, smoke everywhere, the capsule door is a see through mat and it stinks. Lots of strange men wondering and you cannot wait to leave. When you wake up the next morning (if you got any sleep), you realise you are bang in the middle of a seedy sex district....

Me and a friend stayed here purely for the novelty of trying a capsule hotel on our trip to Japan. From the pictures it looked decent, it was cheap and it was in Shinjuku. We were absolutely horrified when we arrived! - It's in the middle of a red light district, smoking is allowed seemingly all over the building, the...

I've stayed in many capsule hotels throughout Japan and this is the worst. Period. Stay at the Kuyakushomae capsule hotel just a few blocks over instead. Reasons why this capsule isn't worth staying at: lockers are part of the lobby, the bathroom is terrible, the place smells, it's in the middle of the sex district, the pillows are 100% beads,...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
