We stayed here from 18th May for 7 nights. It was very clean and comfortable. We choose the bigger room which I think is essential. I saw some of the smaller rooms and I would not want to stay there. The bathrooms are very small. Remember you are only sleeping there. This hotel is right next to the subway, simply...

My husband & I stayed here on our first trip to Japan. We had heard the rumours that Tokyo hotels were a bit tight on space, but no matter what we thought we understood about what 'Small' meant, we had NO idea. My husband is over 6ft tall, and I am about 5ft 7in, so about average for a couple...

The rooms are pretty small as typical in Japan. But I liked the location the most. Right in shinjuku next to a subway station. A taxi ride to the bus station that can to you to the airport and mt Fuji as well

Being senior Western travellers, the size of the room was a major culture shock. We stayed for 12 nights, which is probably not typical for this hotel, and found the location was excellent for easy access to all that Tokyo has to offer. It took several days for us to work out how to fit ourselves and our luggage into...

The rooms in this hotel are small, even by Tokyo standards, but that isn't even the biggest issue. In April, when it was 20-25 degrees outside, the air conditioning wasn't switched on/working. Bizarrely, the heating was still on. This made the room unbearably hot. If you open the windows in an attempt to cool the room down, you'll hear emergency...

Okay I'll go straight to the major negative: it was very noisy making it difficult to sleep as the walls are paper thin. There are constant emergency sirens outside throughout the night, but it's not just sirens it comes along with loudspeaker announcements. I thought for a second maybe we were under attack cos it sounded like a city evacuation...

It is literally located next to the station (Higashi Shinjuku). Coffee shop and convenient store located on the 1st floor. The room and bathroom might be too small for most people but it fits perfectly for me (I'm 5'2). I will definitely stay here again when I visit Shinjuku.

New, clean & super convenience hotel. Room size is better than my expectation. A proper toilet with small size bath, good enough really for the price i pay. If you are carrying luggage, look for the super cool design elevator by walking towards the direction of McDonald. It's glass design so I didn't realise it was the lift to the...

Efficient, clean & centrally located. F1 line subway 30 ft away from the front door. This was a perfect choice for a quick 3 night stay excursion to Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto). The staff was responsive, helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. What else could one ask for. This is the first time I used Expedia to book a hotel as well. A...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
