We met our son in Tokyo after his college semester ended. This was our first visit to the city and staying in Shinjuku was perfect. The hotel staff was friendly and professional. The room accommodated three people and we loved the kitchenette. It's not too far from Shinjuku Station. Many restaurants, shops and convenience stores nearby. Reasonably priced with many...

My husband & I enjoyed our 2-night stay at this hotel following our 14-day Southeast Cruise which finished in Yokohama. It is close to 2 subway stations so we didn't have to use the busy JR Shinjuku station. The bedroom and bathroom were big and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen. The free WiFi was fast. A 7-Eleven is a...

Let´s be honest. I´m no backpacker and I´m used to big spaces so, when I knew that I had to look for a room for two persons in Tokyo, I realized I was facing a challenge. I wanted a mid-range room in the city center, close to a metro station, and as big as possible. And this is it. I...

Friendly and helpful staff, great sized rooms for Japan. Quite close to metro station (m line) and large supermarket in the street opposite for those who want to use the kitchen facilities in room. Very quiet - we didn't hear any of our neighbours and slept really well!

We had 2 apartments, one each for my husband and I and 2 teenage children. Both apartments were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable and supplied toiletries were of good quality. We did not cook but did utilise the supplied kitchenware for some meals. Rooms were tidied each day and fresh towels supplied. Location was perfect being close to the...

This Citadines hotel is ideally located for a visit to Tokyo. It is close to the subway and there are many small restaurants and cafes within a short walk. The room itself is large by Tokyo Hotel standards, and the price is low by Tokyo Hotel standards. These 2 factors combined with the excellent reviews on tripadvisor.com greatly influenced our...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
