This hotel room was so big it was hard to believe we were in Japan. The space was a little wasted as we hardly spent any time in the room, but if we were to stay in Shinjuku for more that a couple of nights this place would be excellent as it has a little kitchen included. Not that we...

A good hotel located at a quieter area of Shinjuku. ~10 min walk from Shinjuku-gyoemmae Station. English speaking receptionist. Clean, decent sized room with a kitchen and a small bathroom. Everything was ok except for the following: - There were only 2 pillows and they were kinda too soft for our liking so we requested for 2 more pillows. -...

I have stayed here numerous times on my trips to Tokyo. The rooms are spacious compared to other hotels in Shinjuku, the staff are friendly and it is only 5 mins away from the imperial park of Isetan Shinjuku. Surrounding it are small eateries and the area is quiet with a mix of residential and commercial. The proximity to Shinjuku...

We stayed here on our visit to Tokyo for 3 nights. Hotel was easy to find clean and staff are friendly. Room was bigger than expected and had air con, kitchenette and a very comfy bed. Hotel is a little to far from the metro which is the only thing that let it down it's not ridiculously far but after...

We just completed a 4 night stay at Citadines. We are a family of two adults and two small children (2 and 4 year old). Thought it best to break the review down into sections... Location: Great location in Shinjuku (the quieter and less brighter side of the area) just a short walk to the underground or about a 15...

We're just back from a most enjoyable two-week stay at Citadines Shinjuku. In this review to begin with, as per many other comments, the hotel facilities and staff services are just super. Let me add a few items: the hairdryer provided in-room is tops per my wife (and she knows!); the shower water is particularly soft; bathroom is well equipped...

Stayed here for a week while on a three week vacation to Japan. Hotel is in a quiet area within a short walking distance to the subway. You can walk to the Shinjuku station in about 20 minutes. Many restaurants nearby as well as grocery stores. Rooms were clean and quiet. Coin laundry very handy. Shinjuku Gyoen park is a...

We stayed at the Citadines for two nights with our toddler. The hotel itself is very comfortable, with everything you need and a kitchen. There is a sofa bed available in our room, which was fantastic! The rooms are very vibrant and colourful. The hotel is located about 5 mins walk from Shinjuku Gyomae metro station. It is a easy...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
