Pleasantly surprised when we entered the room on 31st floor of main building, as there was a great view of the city. Spacious room size exceeded our expectations. We had thought it would be much smaller given the reputation of Tokyo hotel rooms. Room very clean and well maintained. Next to sheltered walkway that is linked to Shinjuku station. About...

This is a big and very busy hotel due to its excellent location with walking distance to the Shinjuku station which is very convenient. There are major electronic and camera stores nearby. Hotel rooms are big however it does show its age in the furniture but the room is clean and big. Staff is very helpful and no problem communicating...

We had only one night stay in this hotel. It locates in a quiet corner of Shinjuku, surrounded by office buildings. It was interesting to see Japanese hard working at Friday night through your window. It was about 10 minutes walk to JR line, and not close to the shopping (noisy) centre (15-20 minutes by walk). And, there aren't many...

Located across the street from Toyko Metro office building and a few walking blocks from the JR Shinjuku station. This is a 4 star tourist hotel housing many tour groups. Our guest room was clean but small (compared to US standards). The hotel, room, and bathroom is dated but very well maintained. Looking at hotel photos, some rooms are renovated...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
