You’ve got everything within walking distance, shops, dining, transport (JR line is less than 10 min walk) the location is spot on. For just having a place to stay while in Tokyo, this place is great but if you need extra facilities like gym or indoor pool, this place doesn’t have it and the rooms are tiny. It’s not luxury but it’s clean and the staff are great.

We loved the location of this hotel. It has a Tokyo vibe, very beautiful, amazing views. The reception was very polite, friendly and we felt very welcome. It's near metro, shops, restaurants, cafe and it has a Godzilla statue on the balcony of the hotel, funny ! Pros: -Location -Cleanliness -Views -Service Mins: -Room is efficient designed but small (we could manage it but it could be a bit larger)

Right in the heart of the Blade Runner-esque cityscape that comprises Shinjuku - a district famed for its futuristic skyscrapers, retail therapy and sprawling station plus non-stop nightlife scene. The hotel is located in Kabukicho, the neon-flashing entertainment district not far from the station that errs towards the gritty – in short, as convenient as it is lively (and safe, bearing in mind this is Japan). Front desk staff handle the large crowds flowing in and out with military-style efficiency. There are easy-to-use automatic check in/out machines in the lobby and a concierge desk for Japan travel advice. Films can also be rented, clothes washed in an 24-hour laundromat and Godzilla memorabilia purchased from a small shop. Rooms are mainly doubles, with a window-side bed, large television screen, a trouser press and compact bathrooms with spacious white baths (complete with electronic taps and green tea and collagen amenities). Each floor has vending machines selling drinks.

Spent our first two nights here in Japan. Convenient for Shinjuku station with a shortish walk from the east exit. We arrived early expecting to have to just drop our luggage but the concierge at ‘self check in’ said if we became members of the hotel group we could access our room immediately. We had an 18m2 room on the 14th floor over looking Godzilla. The room was perfectly adequate but I will say that 18m2 gets tried very quickly as we had nowhere to leave the case open. Best was half on half off the bed during the day. So if you can find bigger rooms then do consider it. For two days though it was fine and the price compared to other establishments I thought was fair. The area was busy but felt safe and there was plenty to do, see and eat. Would happily recommend.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. We really enjoyed being in the center of Shinjuku within walking distance from all the interesting alleys and shops. The room was really small which made it a bit awkward moving around but that is typical in most hotels in Japan. Not cheap but not expensive either.

Visiting our friend from U.K , it is a great location , 24 hours non stop action and they told us the room are tiny but clean , the staff friendly and my personal option not for young family with kids , due to the area , but for Godzilla fan , they love it , the huge life size Godzilla sit on the observation deck looking down over the hotel to the street below , and located at the Eight floor of the lobby , little disappointing to say the Observation deck is close for the public now . very interesting hotel .

My experience with this hotel was unfortunately sub-par. Despite the Godzilla theme and large lobby with a mini-library and interestingly, a free China Daily newspaper for your perusal, the first thing I noticed were the high frequency/pitched sounds emanating from the outside the main entrance in the ground level that seemed to be associated with a red siren light that was always flashing on the side wall. This sound was so unpleasant it gave me a case of tinnitus each time I walked past it. The hotel was itself a little confusing to get into as from the ground floor, you had to take a smaller less obvious passageway into the lift lobby (the other main passageway leads to the much brighter cinema) and then take the lifts to the 8th floor. The reception itself was on this level and there were various signs saying that the Godzilla statue on the terraced cafe were out of bounds! From the reception lobby, you had to take another walk to another set of elevators which took you to your room proper. Unfortunately my inner ear was assaulted again by the high-pitched ringing that came from the always-flashing corridor red alert light triggering my tinnitus once more. The slight smell of static in the corridor also triggered some vague nausea. The rooms themselves were pretty standard and like other hotels in Japan, suffered from a lack of hooks and hangers for clothes and towels as well as the unadjustable air-conditioning temperature. There was the standard bath and shower arrangement and usual free top-up amenities from the lobby. The main redeeming feature was its location within the busy entertainment and food district of Shinjuku which was very safe despite going out late at night with kids. Would not recommend hotel due to tinnitus issues but if you are not sensitive to such things, would recommend it due to its excellent location.

Amazing location, was perfect our our family with young adult children. Very modern and posh, the front desk staff spoke excellent English. Rooms were quiet, no street noise bc we were up so high (28th floor!) Loved having pajamas, robe and slippers in the room. There was a tea kettle and an amazing blow-dryer! We've never been to Japan before so the "shower room" was a new idea for us but we loved it! Love the heated toilet seat and bidets too. Room was very small which is typical for Japan, but had good storage spaces. Plus, we weren't in our room much so that wasn't a huge problem. We had 2 rooms, and they were on different floors that were separated by different elevators too. That was kind of annoying but not a big issue. Loved having the 7-11 on the main floor. And just walking in the area with the bright lights was exactly why we booked here. A quick 3 block walk to the train station, and close to everything! We would totally stay here again!

As a family we like the Shinjuku area, must be all the lights. So whenever we are in town, this is where we generally stay because the location is convenient. The Shinjuku train station is roughly a 5 mins walk away. The Shinjuku train station is like central station, you can go anywhere from this station on the JR lines, metro lines etc. Its one of the busiest train stations with many exits/ entrances. Just need to remember where you entered from so you can exit the same. This hotel is in the midst of restaurants, night clubs and famous Shinjuku Golden Gai. The shopping areas are closer to Shinjuku Station. You will find many well known brands like Gap, Uniqlo, Takashimaya, Tokyo Hands etc. Its not far from bus station too. Only downside is that you will see piles of rubbish in bags on the streets of Shinjuku Golden Gai area, ready to be picked up. Don't let this put you off. Hotel Grocery's rooms are modern. Our ensuite bathroom was larger than most other hotels we've been to. There is a separation between the vanity & toilet and bathtub & shower area. Its very clean. They supply toothbrush and toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner. The rooms are on the smallish side. Once you put you luggage in, there's not much room to move around. It's a standard Japanese size room, with bed against the side wall. Once again its clean and comfortable. On 1st January, the hotel hired a small kabuki group to welcome in the new year with their dragon dance performance and sake for everyone. Really nice touch! Definitely pick this hotel. You can't go wrong!

We had a double booking for a Godzilla room and a twin. My youngest got a kick out of staying in a room with a lifesized Godzilla right out the window. Our other room was at the top on the 30th floor with amazing views could see both Tokyo tower and the Skytree. I stayed up too late and woke up too early to look out the window.Pillows were hard. Wish I knew about the soft option. The shower was wonderful. It was a little pricey but it was a fun way to finish two weeks in Japan.
