We had a family room for a few days which had a 4 capsule style bunk bed and a private toilet and shower.

Very clean on arrival and the staff were helpful with appropriate instructions and directions when asked.

The beds were a little hard but okay. Our only complaint was other guests were a bit noisy. (We dont want to be killkoys but till 3am somenights was a bit excessive). As I have seen suggested maybe a few notices asking people to be quiet a night might help.

The Asakusa metro station is only 5 minutes away which provides easy access to central tokoyo as well as both Airports.

Also in that area are a mini-mart and various shops and cafes/restaurants. From their facebook page we found Builders Burger resturant just a few minutes away and they really were some of the best burgers we have had.

All in all we were glad with our choice of a base in Tokyo.

Friendly, helpful staff, maybe the top hostel staff in Japan. Appreciated the complimentary coffee and green tea. Handy laundry facilities and some basic kitchen facilities. Would definitely stay here again.

Location just okay. WiFi was sometimes disappointing from both dorm and ground floor lounge. Could be slow with dropped connections, didn’t matter time of day or if the hostel was full or empty.

Nearly constant noise from peeps checking into and out of 12-bed cramped dorm here which was usually full or near capacity during my 11-night stay in September. Might help to post ‘Please Be Quiet After 10 PM’ or ‘Quiet Hours 10pm to 7am’ signs like other hostels. Public/common space amenities are very basic — could use a furniture upgrade. Staff also needs training on correct location of emergency exit and procedure to deploy emergency ladder. Emergency Exit info needs to be provided and acknowledged by all guests checking into plat hostel.

Dear James Thank you for staying at our hostel and leaving the review. Sorry for the late reply but we are really happy to hear that we are top hostel staff in Japan!! Thank you. Now we are planning to improve connection of the WiFi and will be updated in few weeks. Also we put signs on inside each bed in dormitory that says respect other guest after 10 p.m. Thank you for your advise! Also we'd done annual emergency escape training and emergency escape route map was on the door each room. Each advises that you gave us was really important and we are glad that you let us know. Now it is hard time to travel world, It's really quiet at our hostel and we miss the time we spent together. Hope things go back to normal as soon as possible and everyone enjoy travel without hesitate. We are looking forward to see you again in near future. Let's have a chat at the lounge again :)
