OK I got the small room but this is a luxury hotel. It was like they were punishing us for staying there. This was the most ungenerous place in my Japan trip. We asked for an extra green tea bag after we had our single complimentary bag. OMG the eyebrows it raised. I guess we were supposed to order room service?? A single pillow and an OK bed. In places half the price we had free coffee complementary cool barley tea, a reasonably priced breakfast. But not at the Metropolitan. I would never lay down the cash for this place again nothing luxurious about it. Our guest house with a shared bath was more luxurious. We had a private traditional Japenese bath at that place. Fresh green tea as much as we wanted with a lovely tea set tatami mats and beautiful high quality Yakata to wear around the place. …

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Metropolitan Ikebukuro. It is centrally located near lots of shopping, restaurants, and a main train station. Be aware that there are other Hotel Metropolitan locations around Tokyo. The hotel is nice and modern. My room was very spacious and updated. Good lighting and nice bathroom. Heated toilet seats and nice shower strength. Very comfortable bed. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The restaurant was great for breakfast. Lot of variety.

Affordable and great value - with high quality restaurants Breakfast buffet was brilliant and a perfect start to the day. Centrally located and easy to get around on the JR (can use rail pass) Yamamonte line. Catch the Keisei Skyliner from the airport to Nippori and get the Yamamonte line to Ikebukuro from there. The surrounding restaurants in the area were not the most english friendly - although the one outdoor one up the street near the station was good.

We have stayed here before and will stay again. It is a first class hotel. With excellent service at every turn. From the reception, housekeeping, quality of the amenities, concierge, bar and restaurants, bakery, buffet and lobby stores, all helped our 2 week stay to be comfortable and memorable once again.

I usually stay in here when I go to Tokyo. It’s an amazing honeymoon trip that hotel assigned me a room can see the Fujisan that is a very great gift for me and my wife. Their guest service team is always impressing me. Is great to come back after 3 years Covid hazard. I need to have a big shout out to the duty manager “Otani San” who put all his effort to assist us when my wife got sick. So my wife can recover so fast and continue our wonderful journey. Otani San present the service excellent of the hotel metropolitan Ikebukuro.

I booked more than a month ago, asking that they give me the same room as a Tour that I bought separately, today they give me a much more expensive room and the super rude KIKUCHI Manager "he forgot to review my request" so in three days I have to change rooms and lose everything like today because they never have rooms ready... Really very bad service and of course very expensive.... and very bad attitude from the Manager..

Vast hotel on the outskirts of Tokyo in a business area, we stayed here for 3 nights as part of a land tour before a cruise. Despite its size, the hotel was very quiet and well organised the staff were very polite and efficient considering the large number of people there. Breakfast was fantastic, so much choice and very tasty and well organised. The room didn't have a great view, but was quiet very clean and comfortable. The toilets were on another level toilet and bidet in one, and the bathroom had a lot of helpful accessories, toothpaste, brushes, razors, etc. The area was busy being near a large railway station, but felt very safe. Lots of restaurants and bars, I enjoyed the time we spent here.

I've been a guest at the hotel in the past month of February 2023 and the experience was very positive. The location is great, a few minutes away from the JR lines and access to all other lines on the Ikebukuro train station through the LUMINE entrance. There's also an airport limousine bus stop at the hotel and it's possible to get a taxi straight from the entrance. The superior queen room was spacious for the Tokyo norm, the bed was very comfortable, there was store space for cloth with hangers, the desk was very nice to have to use the laptop on and the bathroom was well equipped. Would prefer a shower to the bathing tub but I know these are very popular in Japan, so it's fine. The stave was very friendly and helpful, always available to answer the silliest questions. There is a coin laundry on premises but I found it always in full use during my stay. The laundry service from the hotel worked perfectly though. The breakfast works on a buffet model from 6 a.m to 10 a.m and the selection is pretty good, the space is comfortable and spacious. Will definitely try stay here again on my next visit to Tokyo.…

My daughter and I stayed at Metropolitan for 6 nights, which was the first Japan trip since the pandemic. We had great time especially with an awesome experience here. Huge thanks to the kind and helpful staffs, we are deeply impressed particular by the wonderful help by a staff Mr LI Tsz Yin. He helped us through a problem we encountered with our planned visit to the Ghibli Art Museum. We had trouble accessing the preordered tickets necessary for the visit. Tsz Yin helped us write a note for the staff at the museum in Japanese explaining the situation. This finally solved our problem and we made our visit to the museum. Tsz Yin’s courtesy, and his fast and reliable problem solving abilities relieved our problem, and made our visit possible and enjoyable. We are delighted to have chosen Metropolitan as our stay and will definitely come back again next time! …

This is my hotel every time I go to Tokyo. I was so glad to be there after three years Covid border closures. The staff is always kind and helpful. Limousine bus comes right into the hotel entrance, and staff is helpful to carry my bags in. I asked for a superior single room 2102 as usual, so I could see Mt Fuji on a fine day. On the day I arrived, I was able to see it after sunset and also early in the morning. The hotel is situated in front of Lumine and Tobu Department Store, that is connected to all the major train lines through the underground passage. If you come by train, you should follow the direction: “Metropolitan Exit.” As my friends had forgotten about it and came out of the “North Exit” near the Ikebukuro West Park, though it wasn’t too far from the hotel. When I arrived at around 7am by a hire car (due to the cancellation of early limousine bus service from Haneda Airport), I requested an early check-in. When I returned to the foyer just before the regular check-in time (3pm), my bags had already been delivered to the room. I look forward to staying in the same room again.…
