Located right by Ikebukuro station and a lot of shopping options (and ramen joints), this hotel is convenient. The room sizes are not big, but then, very few places in Japan are very big. The bathrooms were actually decently sized for a Japanese hotel, so we were happy about that. The hotel staff spoke English and were very friendly and...

We stayed two nights in a Superior Queen room, which we found quite comparable to a western hotel room in terms of its size (i.e. large by Japan standards!). The view was quite good, but couldn't match that from another hotel we stayed at in Ginza, and overall the room and furnishings were quite average - neither new nor old,...

Stayed 5 nights in standard twin room. Room size is alright; not very small. Very clean and well maintained. Location is a strong point for this hotel. It is located diagonally opposite JR ikebukuro rail station where you can take the JR Yamanote line directly to major shopping belts such as Shinjuku, harajuku and shibuya. Traveling by rail to these...

The hotel is located in the central of Ikebukuro and is conveniently close to the Ikebukuro rail station, a short 5 min walk. There are lots of restaurants, shops and entertainment within the vicinity of the hotel. The hotel serves a good buffet breakfast but is costly. Avoid booking the standard room as it is very small in size and...

The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from Ikebukuro rail station (use the Metropolitan exit between 07:30 and 21:30). Ikebukuro station is served by the Narita Express and is also on the JR Yamanote Line (Tokyo's equivalent of London's Circle Line). The rooms were fairly spacious but it is certainly advisable to request a non-smoking room if required as...

The hotel is located right in middle of ikebukuro marketplace, next to the station which makes it very very convenient. As such the accomodation is expensive and the double rooms are ok. but the breakfast buffet is great. The bakery also has some good things to offer....Do try the pastries. The main shopping destinations are all around the hotel at a...

It is in a very seedy not-too-convenient (for tourism) area of Tokyo. It is close to the station (altho kinda on the 'wrong side') and there are a few good department stores. Ikebukuro station is not inconvenient to Narita Airport. (But don't take the Narita Express unless you have a JAL railpass, are using the NEX/Suica coupon, or have all...

On the 2nd day evening, she started telling me that she sees 'shadows' in the room. We traveled 12 years together & this was the...

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
