The property is clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small, but roomy enough for 1 person. My room was very clean and modern. The location was close to the train station. I'd stay in the property again.

pro: 1. excellent location 2. luxury decoration cons: 1. Breakfast is frustrating with 1800 yen and it's also unbelievable to find there's no English menu 2. Crews are all in good manner but not very friendly. It's obvious they are focusing on domestic business persons. Choose other hotels for warm family trip.

Simply wonderful hotel, with exceptionally well trained and caring staff. We stayed 4 nights, and found its location perfect, right next to a rail station, but with excellent sound insulation. As a retired firefighter, my ears "pricked up" when the porter taking us to our room, pointed out the 2 nearest fire escapes. That has never happened to us, in...

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Bellclassic last march. Small but functional rooms, great bed and shower. Internet was fast and stable. Staff was great also. The best feature of this hotel is it's location, so close to Otsuka train station (Yamanote line) and surrounded by convenience/grocery stores. It's so easy to go anywhere in Tokyo from here. Don't worry...

Stayed here for 4 nights in May. It's right next to the Otsuka JR station. Even though the back hotel faces the tracks, the hotel was very quiet. No train sounds at all. Lots of convenient stores nearby, especially the shopping mall next door with some good food options at the ground floor. I found Otsuka to be very sleepy,...

The hotel is OK for a one night stay. Price was reasonable. Found the hotel noisy but this was from the guests rather than the surrounding area. Located nearby to the JR Otsuka station. Various convenience stores opposite.

Location of this little gem is one station with the JR Yamanote line from Ikebukuro and about a 5 minute walk from Otsuka station. Room is small as most "business size" hotels but the single room has everything that is needed and even includes a separate toilet. Room interior intelligently designed with all amenities that are needed. For about Yen...

I stay at a LOT of business hotels in Tokyo, usually in the Shinagawa area due to its proximity to the bullet train station there. However, for those that don't know, hotel prices in Japan have soared over the last year with a new influx of tourists. I was forced to look elsewhere in Tokyo for a business hotel to...

The hotel is very conveniently located, right beside Otsuka Stn of JR Yamanote Line. Around the station, there was a little (?) shopping district. Room was small but very clean with wooden floors. Everything was well maintained. Wifi was very strong. No smell or anything in the property. Intermittent rail sound was heard, though not to any degree that it...

There is a bit of a hill from the station to the hotel but the two block walk was manageable with one large suitcase on wheels. The room was very nice and modern complete with safe, fridge, hotwater pot, separate toilet cubicle with sink, vanity desk and air purifier. But the biggest complaint was lack of a usable WIFI signal...

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
