Everything is small. There is a lift (small ^^) and small stairs to reception. Not advisable for big luggage Kettle is provided. Wifi for me, works excellent but not for my friends. Perhaps there is some setting they need to re-configure. They allowed us to leave our luggage after checked out. They cleaned our room eventhough we did not ask...

Centrally located in Ikebukuro. Small hotel. Basic facilities. En-suite. Comfortable beds. Clean. Affordable. Near Ikebukuro JR/Metro station. Fast check-in and check-out. Quiet. Wifi quite good. Value for money.

On the booking site it looked like a simple and clean Hotel, to spend a few days in Tokyo but nothing is so far from reality. The building is old, sloppy and dirty. Paying with a Credit Card you're asked of a 5% "tax" on the bill. Do yourself a gift and Stay away from this !

As with most things, you get what you pay for, this hotel is very well located, only a 10 minute walk from Ikebukuro station, however, rooms are very small as are the bathrooms, it is challenging to say the least to find decent accommodation for £50 per night in Tokyo, so it's probably best to budget upwards from this. This...

Booked for 2 nights but changed to one. Very basic, absolutely tiny and stairs to get in that are narrow and difficult to get cases up. Tiny little reception which is a hole in the wall with little if any English spoken. Room was in basement, very small and dark, 2 beds squeezed in and a very small bathroom, so...

I used a Commonwealth Travel Money card here which cost me a 5% surcharge. For six nights this added up. This is the reason I have given it 4 out of 5, not 5 out of 5. The rooms are pretty cute (and snug) but having said that I've been in smaller rooms. The neighbourhood is wonderful, it's very well...

I stayed in this hotel a month ago with my husband. This was our 1st trip to Japan. My husband booked this hotel via booking.com using a credit card. We choose it because it's not too expensive. We almost got lost when finding this hotel because we took the wrong exit at Ikebukuro station. We checked in (the reception only...

The room was small especially the bathroom but it was clean and had everything we needed. We had a lovely view of another building which we could touch through the window so it was a little claustrophobic but that is Tokyo. It took us ages to find this place but once you know your way around it is really close...

They did not accept credit cards and made an "exception" for us. Our room was next to the reception desk and it was loud every time somebody came in. The bathroom was dirty and human hair was stuck so I had so ask especially for them to clean it. Even after cleaning the water did not run down smoothly. The...

It is what you would expect for a budget hotel. Very basic small room with its own bathroom. However the place is very clean and the staff very friendly. We got lost on the way to the hotel and didn't arrive until after midnight but they still got up and checked us in. It is in a geriatric location, close...

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
