Great location for the price. Close to public transport for near and far explorations. Good breakfast with a mix of European and Japanese selections. Friendly service. Wonderful views as all guest rooms are located on floor 21 - 24.

I highly recommend this hotel for it has a good view. The lobby is on 20th floor, and all rooms are start from 20th floor. My room is on 21st floor and has a view of Ueno. The room is clean and quite big compare with others in Tokyo. Breakfast is served on 20th floor and charged 1,000 yen. It has quite a lot of choices. The hotel is near Ueno JR station, it takes about 5 min walking distance. There is a 7-eleven just next to the hotel entrance. Shopping malls and restaurants are nearby.

Just a real mix bag of a hotel. You get excellent views, really nice staff but there were stains on the carpet so the room felt ugh. There was an air purifier which was a must but the air con had a nasty smell to it. The breakfast was average but the location was really convenient. Had mixed feelings whether to give 3 or 4 stars. I think the carpet stains pushed it to a 3.

Good location. There are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. I could see the Sky tree from the window. Unfortunately the room was very small and the staff member who checked me in was very unfriendly.

Decent hotel that is conveniently located near a convenience store and it is about a 5 minutes walk away from the JR Ueno Station. Room is pretty big as compared to the other hotels in Japan. As the rooms are located above 20 floors, guests are treated with a beautiful view of the city.
However, service from the staff can be improved. The staffs were very unfriendly and refused to assist us despite what was promised in the email. Staff even mentioned that their hotels do not offer the full-range of services and I should book another hotel if I wished to have my baggage delivered. (I have written an email and their reception said they can assist in arranging for delivery. Hence, I booked the hotel). Despite being a hotel with such high rating, I will not recommend anyone to book this hotel due to the service (or lack of) rendered, and that staff cannot communicate well with non-Japanese speaking guests.

Good hotel in the center of Ueno! The reception is located on the 20th floor of an office building with rooms on floors 20-24.
There is a 7-11 in the building, which makes it easy to locate since there is only a medium-sized sign at the hotel door.
The room itself felt very spacious compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in Tokyo. It was clean and the view over the city was very nice.
Overall, a very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It definitely serves as a nice base for this part of Tokyo.

We stayed at Hotel Lifetree Ueno for 6 nights in May 2017.We 've found that location was convenient for my parents 75 and 74 . We could walked from Keisei Ueno straight to hotels passed by Ameyoko Market since we met Familymart then walked across the wide street .The hotel building look like office bld. with "Hitachi" sign on top. At the entrance there 's 7-11 and you can get to the elevator to 20th floor. It took only less than 10 min.from beginning point by seniors. Anyway ,this location is between Ueno St. and Okachimachi St.so you can take metro 3 lines and JR. easily. Travel with no luggage , the exit No.3 Ueno St. Is less than 100 meters from hotels.
My parents appreciated with this hotel location the most. They liked breakfast since early 6.30 am.and all beddings. They also impressed with the view from room .

Looks like a new hotel that could be a best option in Ueno. Walking distance from Ueno station - which still easy accessible if you brings big luggage with wheels. Small rooms but clean and functional. Their restaurant just next to the reception has a very scenic view to Tokyo city center. While my room has view to Tokyo Skytree!
However, the lobby located at 20th floor which on the ground floor only small signage - people most probably will think this is only an office tower.
They have Seven Eleven at the ground level, which makes it very convenient. Walking distance to Ueno-Okachimachi, heaven for Japanese authentic small restaurants and food stalls.
