We were really impressed with our hotel stay. We expected a small room but you cant complain when youre staying in the most populating city in the world. Bathroom and shower facilities were better than my own at home! Loved the shower. Housekeeping everyday was lovely. The hotel staff were always lovely and tried to communicate to us in ebgliah...

Easy to find hotel with several metro/subway lines near. Small room but that was expected, but after 3 weeks specious rooms it was somewhat disappointing. Much big groups of Chinese and Russians. Poor breakfast compared to some hotels we stayed.

We stayed at this hotel for our honey moon for 7 days in April 2014. It was pretty much what we had expected, a small japanese double bed bedroom! It was really close to all train stations and a quick walk to town. The only complaint was the wifi only worked downstairs.

Hotel: The hotel is located 5 min walk from Shin-Okachimachi station and 10 min walk from Naka-Okachimachi. Both lines have bindings to most major lines and attractions in Tokyo. The Hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood with some local food market near Shin-Okachimachi station and Satake market 1 min from the hotel building with alot of local food and...

This hotel is located 10 mins walk from Okachimachi station and about 6 mins by taxi from Ueno station. Shin-Okachimachi station is close by, about 3 mins walk but seldom use this line. Its reasonable clean with a comparatively larger then usual bathroom but the bedroom(double bed) is small (but ok I guessed in Japanese standard). Should have booked earlier...

We stayed three nights on our first visit to Tokyo. Our room was small but clean and included tea-making facilities and a safe, plus a nice bathroom. It took a while to figure out the air-conditioning but we got it working with the aid of a help-sheet from reception and the room stayed a pleasant temperature. Free WifFi was appreciated....

Good basic hotel . Very clean friendly staff. This is not a very 'touristy' hotel so no fluent English spoken, but enough to get message across. Amazing place although Disney does not match up to Florida and Disney sea a lot about nothing. Make sure you wear comfy shoes as everything is 10 storeys high. Ueno zoo is a must...

Situated a good 10 minute walk from Shin-Okachimachi Station this is a reasonable hotel for the price. Our basic room was an adequate size for two people and it had a great view of the Skytree Tower. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful with good English. A basic buffet breakfast was included in the price and offered a choice of...

We had 3 nights in a spacious twin room. JR station was a bit far away but very near to subway though. Buffet breakfast was very crowded with Chinese tour group. Has coin laundry in hotel. Convenience store nearby. Good price performance.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
