If you're backpacking on your own, K's House is a good option for you to go. Clean rooms, friendly staff and free tea. Don't forget to check out the toilet at the reception, as it has lots of 'cool features'.

I love this hostel, good location, easy access to the airport and metro. Quiet, clean, good facilities, and fast wifi in room! Common area is big and cozy, love it! The website didn't mention it, but they DO have free coffee, jam, butter, etc for the morning, you have to bring your own bread. It's a great deal! A young...

This hostel locates at Kuramae Sta, you have to get Keisei line and Toei asakusa line. That is not famous town, But your considered will be a success. Around this hostel is real Japanese ambience and non-touristy area. The first traveler of Japan, it's difficult to approach there, please check YouTube search "How to get K's House Tokyo from Kuramae station....

It's a very nice Hostel in Asakusa not far from the Sensoji Temple. The next subway station is in walking distance and the staff is very helpful when looking for activities. They helped me a lot planning my stay in Japan regarding train schedules and other japanese activities. In addition they have some regular hostel activities like an Asakusa tour...

If you ever plan to go to Mt. Fuji in Japan, I strongly recommend to stay at K's house in Kawaguchiko. This little town called Kawaguchiko is just lovely to be hanging around with a full view of Mt. Fuji from almost everywhere you go there. K's house is located conveniently about 5 mins walk from Kawaguchiko Lake which is...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
