Great location, short walk to Senso-ji temple. Next to Tawaramachi subway station. Nice onsen for a business hotel. Very quiet on a main street. Whole place very efficient. Great value for money. Lots of restaurants nearby.

I am 6’5” tall and I had been told that I would not fit anywhere in Tokyo; that I would have to duck under every doorway, be cramped in every bus and subway, and I would go home with neck and backache. While some of that was true, I was apprehensive about the APA hotel, though am pleased to report that - although the rooms are smaller than a Brit may be used to - they’re still fine for tall people and you will fit in the bed (they do these funny flat pillows in Japan that weren’t the easiest, but if you ask at the desk they will get you a bigger one that’s more like the ones we have in the west).

The room was spotless, and while I did occasionally struggle to manoeuvre around the bathroom (which is quite small for a tall person), I was able to use the facilities fully and found the room very good value for money (my wife is normal sized and also liked it). There’s a huge TV in it, there’s WiFi, there’s a fridge for you to make use of (which was a godsend, as we were able to stock up at the 7-Eleven or Family Mart and leave things there), there’s even laundry and baths upstairs. They left us bottled water every day which really came in handy too (Japan is roasting in October which I was not expecting). The staff were great, it’s right on the Ginza line, easily accessible from Narita airport, and though it’s not what you’d consider a luxury hotel, if you’re in Tokyo on holiday you shouldn’t be using the room for anything but sleeping and showering anyway. Also there’s a great pastry shop to your left as you come out the front door, a little independent bakery, that’s worth going to for sure.

Thank you very much for staying at APAHOTEL〈ASAKUSA TAWARAMACHI EKIMAE〉 and for your review. As you mentioned, our rooms are compact but devised well, such as various amenities, fridge, the huge TV, USB port and lights/air conditioner adjuster beside the bed, and the original bed "Cloud-fit" and 3-D pillow which is in our pursuit for quality of sleep. As you mentioned, our beds' size is double size. We are really glad to hear that you had nice time with it. Also we have the public bath(artificial onsen) on the highest floor. We hope it healed not only tiredness of your body but also heart. Our hotel is very close from Tawaramachi station, Ginza line, so it is very convenient for you to move to Ueno/Shibuya station and Asakusa station directly. Of course, it is possible for you to walk to popular sightseeing area in Asakusa such as Nakamise dori, Senso-ji, Kappabashi tools street and so on. Around our hotel, there is many local shops. We hope you found your favorite. From now on, we keep improving our service qualities. If you have chances to visit around here, we hope we see you again. Have wonderful days! Receptionist Motobe

We thoroughly enjoyed our APA hotel stay. The room was very small but I think that is normal for Japan! The room was modern with nice amenities. The hotel had an onsen upstairs to use as well.
It was right near the subway station or a 10-15 minute walk to Ueno station (major station with shinkansen and JR lines). The hotel was right near the precinct of Asakusa where we explored the various temples, bought souvenirs and street food. I would stay there again

APA Hotel Asakusa Tawaramachi Ekimae was a fantastic choice for my recent Tokyo trip. The hotel's strategic location right next to the subway station made it incredibly convenient to explore the city. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were incredibly courteous and helpful. The room, though compact, was surprisingly clean and well-appointed. The onsen on the top floor was a delightful surprise, providing a relaxing soak after a long day of sightseeing. The express check-out was a time-saver, making the departure process hassle-free.

Overall, APA Hotel Asakusa Tawaramachi Ekimae offers excellent value for money. Its prime location, efficient service, and clean, comfortable rooms make it an ideal choice for budget-conscious travelers.

I requested a non smoking room & they gave me a smoking room. Can't open the window to get rid of the smell. They gave me an almost empty aerosol to mask the smell & kept me waiting whilst I queried my room allocation.
The room is cold & noisy & the dressing gown provided is not fresh. I have already paid through Agoda whose system is impenetrable for making a complaint/asking for a refund. It was not cheap & no breakfast is provided.
This is a total contrast to APA Hotel Kobe & not the standard of service I expect in Japan. When your hotel is not good you can't enjoy yourself.

Thank you very much for choosing APA Hotel . We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the room type during your stay. Please note that the hotel prepares rooms according to the room type reserved by the guest, and even if we receive a request, we may not be able to fulfill the request if there are no rooms available. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please understand that we may not be able to change your room due to lack of availability. As for your reservation, you reserved a single room with an electronic cigarette, so we have prepared a room with an electronic cigarette. We also accept requests to change to a non-smoking room as a form of request, which is not guaranteed, but is possible if there is room available. In addition, for safety reasons, there are some rooms in our hotel where the windows cannot be opened, and it is possible that you were in one of these rooms. If you have a preference for a room with an open window or a room on a higher floor, we will do our best to accommodate your request upon check-in. Reception Morita

Convenient location, 1 minute walk from Tawaramachi Station Exit 2, 10 minutes walk from Sensoji Temple and Donki. When I checked in advance with the APA app, I specified a room that was marked as Niceview, and it was a room with a beautiful view of the Skytree. The room was APA standard, with a comfortable bed. It is centrally air-conditioned, so if it's cold, they can lend you a heater. The only disappointing thing was the mold that spread to some parts of the ceiling, which was disgusting. I was in room 1321 on the 13th floor, but I think it might have been due to the large public bath on the 14th floor, but I don't know. The large public bath was spacious and comfortable. If there wasn't any mold on the ceiling, I think it would be a perfect hotel. I probably won't return.

The hotel is located in an exceptional location. 200 meters from the subway and Sumida and Asakusa temple within walking distance. Tokyo station and Namba are both close. The onsen on the top floor is definitely an added value. The lack of a bar or restaurant inside the hotel is not a problem because everything is close by. The problem instead lies in the room which is too small even for Japanese standards and the bathroom is almost unusable because it is so small. It's true that it's cheap, but you're only paying for the location

As described on the title, this small homey hotel housed me for 3days 2nights.
It is cozy especially its Japanese space, comfortably small.
The only downside of this stay was the room was reek with cigarette smell, despite my effort to spray the fresher that was provided in the room.
Thank you to the team for respecting my privacy by not entering my room although i did not put Do Not Disturb sign on.
Hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the Ginza line and commutable to all other konbini around.
Recommended for solo traveller like me.

The hotel is conveniently near restaurants and train stations. The only drawback is that their parking space is already full by the time we've arrived. Understandably, it was because it was during the golden week. So it took us a while to find a parking space which made us late for our check in time. Good thing there's one cheap parking elevator nearby. It has a convenient store inside the hotel. So we can buy food and other essentials we need for our stay without going out.

The hotel received two stars and they are for its location and a cafe in the lobby. We didn't expect a spaciou room, but this had to be the tiniest hotel room I've stayed in Japan. The bed is pushed against on three sides of the walls. You probably take 5-8 steps from door to bed. The hotel had a dorm like structure where you step out into an open corridor from the room. We arrived around 2:30 pm and the front desk made us wait until 3pm to check in. They were not very flexible. Glad we only stayed one night.

Just take the Keisei Skyliner Express from Narita to Ueno Station which takes about 40-50 minutes. Then you take Ginza line heading to Asakusa and stop at Tawaramachi Station. Take the lift to 1st floor (Ground floor) and go right. The hotel is on your right at about 20-30 meters from the station lift.
