The room was spotless, and while I did occasionally struggle to manoeuvre around the bathroom (which is quite small for a tall person), I was able to use the facilities fully and found the room very good value for money (my wife is normal sized and also liked it). There’s a huge TV in it, there’s WiFi, there’s a fridge for you to make use of (which was a godsend, as we were able to stock up at the 7-Eleven or Family Mart and leave things there), there’s even laundry and baths upstairs. They left us bottled water every day which really came in handy too (Japan is roasting in October which I was not expecting). The staff were great, it’s right on the Ginza line, easily accessible from Narita airport, and though it’s not what you’d consider a luxury hotel, if you’re in Tokyo on holiday you shouldn’t be using the room for anything but sleeping and showering anyway. Also there’s a great pastry shop to your left as you come out the front door, a little independent bakery, that’s worth going to for sure.
It was right near the subway station or a 10-15 minute walk to Ueno station (major station with shinkansen and JR lines). The hotel was right near the precinct of Asakusa where we explored the various temples, bought souvenirs and street food. I would stay there again
Overall, APA Hotel Asakusa Tawaramachi Ekimae offers excellent value for money. Its prime location, efficient service, and clean, comfortable rooms make it an ideal choice for budget-conscious travelers.
The room is cold & noisy & the dressing gown provided is not fresh. I have already paid through Agoda whose system is impenetrable for making a complaint/asking for a refund. It was not cheap & no breakfast is provided.
This is a total contrast to APA Hotel Kobe & not the standard of service I expect in Japan. When your hotel is not good you can't enjoy yourself.
It is cozy especially its Japanese space, comfortably small.
The only downside of this stay was the room was reek with cigarette smell, despite my effort to spray the fresher that was provided in the room.
Thank you to the team for respecting my privacy by not entering my room although i did not put Do Not Disturb sign on.
Hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the Ginza line and commutable to all other konbini around.
Recommended for solo traveller like me.
