I travelled solo as part of a larger Trip A Deal group 12/6/23, room was fine but a little bit dirty. I was told on arrival when I asked reception if there was a kettle that no there was not an electric kettle in the room, but was pleasantly surprised to find that yes in fact there was one. The hotel was well placed for walking to the train station and close to a convenience store. Buffet breakfast was fine. I am not sure what cost of room would have been but the other 7 hotels I stayed at during teh trip were far cleaner. This comment was repeated by other travellers in our group.

Hotels in Tokyo are so expensive, so why is this place so cheap? I headed to the nearest station, Uguisudani Station, wondering about this.
Living in Tohoku, I had no idea about the shady nature of this town, so when I got off the train, I thought, "I see."
It's also unusual that all the hotel front desk staff are foreigners. And one after another, foreign tourist groups are checking in.
Regardless of the atmosphere of the town, this hotel is decent. It is a Candeo Hotel, after all.
And the breakfast is delicious! Up until now, I've often had pretty expensive hotel breakfasts that were "not so great," but this one is really decent! I'm impressed!
I don't care if there are a lot of love hotels or if this is a mecca for delivery health services, so I'll definitely come back! That's right. Because it was cheap.

Comfortable beds with bathtub for a perfect dip after long walks and shopping. The location is a 5-minute walk to the North Exit of Uguisudani Station. Many eateries around, McDonald's and Don-Donki just around the corner. I will book this hotel again when revisiting Tokyo!!
P/s: The Japanese-style breakfast was good.

We spent our first four nights in Japan at this hotel. The ulterior of the hotel looks amazingly modern as depicted, we were totally disappointed the moment we got to the floor where our room was. It is so old-school, the carpet in our room was filthy. My four year old spotted a tiny roach lurking around on the carpet the first night. Room amenities could be better too. The only commendable thing about this hotel is its location, 3 minutes walking distance away from Uguisudani Station for convenient access to many places. Breakfast was good. I highly suggest that the hotel management looks into improving the overall hygiene aspect and upgrade of the rooms. It is a shame since the location is great but hotel itself is just meh.

Stayed with wife and 2 daughters in jan 2020 . It was a budget decision ,so we chose one room . Room is absolutely small , but hey that was the whole fun . Ugisudani station is just 200 mtr walk and on yamanote green line so connects tokyo like a cakewalk . Staff at lobby is nice ( some are from nepal) . No english issue ! . Lot of eatries around . 7/11 and lawson stores .. just 50 mtrs walk .

WE read reviews about noise etc from street , but we did not feel anything as such .neighbourhood is good ..inspite of some love hotels in vicinity , it was absolutely dignified and safe at any hour .

Tokyo is an experience ...

This was our first accommodation as part of a tour (for a lot of money). ….worn inventory, stains everywhere, mold in the bathroom, shower cubicle leaking, stains in the bed. If possible, you should definitely avoid this. We are very disappointed and will complain about this.

This hotel is atrocious and in no way would I recommend it. The rooms are old, musty and unpleasant, the beds are horrible and lumpy and the staff are the most disorganised I've seen. Luggage left in a room with no safety or security, dank and dark hallways and filthy carpet.
It's in no way a hotel I would ever stay in again and would recommend you book elsewhere.

I stayed the hotel for 3 nights two weeks ago. The first impression was nice because its location is really near the JR Uguisudani Station (Even Metro Iriya Station is not far away). The staff was friendly and space of the room was fair enough for 2 persons to stay with. However, when I opened the door, musty odor assaulted the nostril. That's awful!!
Beside the odor, convenient transportation, various restaurants nearby, reasonable price, and helpful staff are those advantages to CANDEO Hotel Uenokoen. If you would stay hotel for a long time, it might not be a good choice. But if you are looking for a hotel just to get some sleep, you should take this hotel into consideration.

I stayed here twice during my vacation in Japan--first, for five nights, and then when I returned from Kyoto, I stayed another night before leaving Japan. I booked a non smoking single room. The rooms were fine. They were actually bigger than I had expected for a single room in Japan. The bed is comfortable--firm, but springy. The desk you get is pretty big, which I like because I spread my stuff out all over. You get a collapsible luggage rack--not very big, but I was only traveling with an 18" roller.

No closet--just a rack attached to the wall to hang clothes--which was fine for me. The bathroom was clean and had all the usual amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, toothbrush, etc.). The room also had a fridge (which is nice, but I did not use it).

During the day, I could hear the trains, but it was not a bother to me. At night, it was dead quiet--it felt like I was alone on the floor.

I love the location. I took the Keisei Skyliner from Narita to Nippori Station, then transferred to the JR trains to Uguisudani Station. I followed the advice of an earlier poster and made sure I took the South Exit. You can't miss the hotel. You can see it off to the left. Very short walk down the walkway and then another left and you're there. Easy peasy.

You can visit many sites just traveling the JR Yamanote line, so being so close to Uguisuidani Station is great. Ueno Park is very close--you can just walk there (the hotel is at the north edge close to the Tokyo National Museum) or hop on the train for one stop to Ueno to enter the park from the south side.

The breakfast buffet is a bit pricey at 1500 yen, but it's not bad. I tried it a couple of times as a matter of convenience. You can really load up your plate, have a big breakfast to start out a long day of sightseeing, and then just have a light dinner. But I usually just ate elsewhere. Many restaurants close by if you want to eat near the hotel, and there is a Family Mart just down the street. What I liked to do is just grab some pastries at the Family Mart to start my day.

It's a very good value hotel with a great location--I would stay there again on a return trip to Tokyo.
