I stayed for two nights at K's House Tokyo Oasis, in a double private room, on my first trip to Japan. It was wonderful! From the moment I arrived I was welcomed warmly and enthusiastically (K's House, you have an absolute treasure in Tomo) with great conversation and recommendations on where to go and what to see in the neighborhood.... At the K's house Oasis Asakusa location our family of 2 adults and 2 kids had a four bed dorm. It was adequate space wise with 2 bunks with underneath storage and an ante room for storage with toilet and shower. Having two sections was great because as a family we had a bit of space and could put the... More

It's in a very good location in Asakusa, bear the temples and dining and shopping area. It's very clean and kind of small which is normal in Japan. It's quite a walk to the metro station, the private Akihabara line is nearer but it's still about a 5-10 minute walk. BTW- do yourselves a favor, just take the limousine bus... More

This was a lovely, fun but family-friendly hostel with the most lovely, enthusiastic and welcoming staff. The communal facilities and areas were great, the complimentary coffee and iced tea were so welcome, everything was spotlessly clean and the location was fantastic. My husband hired a bike nearby and had a great time cycling around the local area (Asakusa), Ueno, Akihabara... More

This place is great, and the people working there are amazing. We had a nice and tidy little room, that was exactly what we needed. We got a lot of good advice from very friendly staff - especially Miki went out of her way to give us much needed help:) thanks for a great stay and a good start on... More

We stayed here as a couple, in a private double with our own bathroom. It was small, but comfortable. The staff were really friendly and incredibly helpful. It's clean and located in a brilliant location for exploring that side of Tokyo. There is also a kitchen but we didn't use this.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
