I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I often stay in the Ueno area whenever I visit Japan as my launching point, and this hotel is my favorite location to stay it for its great value. The location is really conveniently located near Ueno Station for me to hop onto the trains to travel around Tokyo and to other areas of the country. The room is very comfortable, modern, and reasonably sized compared to other hotels in Ueno for the price point, and with larger bathroom in comparison too. Lastly, the staff is very kind and friendly, and I appreciate how helpful they were to my party by speaking English to those who did not know Japanese. I hope to make this hotel my future stay whenever I visit Tokyo again in the future. Strong recommendation.

Stayed here for 9 nights in June with our family of 5. Rooms are small (which we'd expected) but very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was spacious. The housekeeping staff were fantastic. You'll only get your rooms cleaned every 5th day of your stay but they will give you fresh towels, water, green tea and trash bags every day, and also clear your trash daily. That was good enough for us.

The hotel lobby has a good choice of amenities, from tea (their sweet honey lemon tea was our favourite) and coffee, to facial moisturizers, toothbrushes, combs, etc. You can also get extra pillows, borrow irons, brollies etc at the lobby.

The best thing about the hotel is its location. Just next to Ueno Station, yet still very quiet. 2 konbinis very nearby, food in the alleys around, and just a short walk to Ameyoko Street. We flew in through Narita Airport and took the Keisek Skyliner to Ueno. From there, it was a very short walk to the hotel. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would be happy to stay here again.

I stayed at Hotel Resol Ueno, which is a one-minute walk from Ueno Station!

The location is great, of course, but I was also very satisfied with the rooms and services.

The art and design of the hotel let you feel like you're on vacation.

The staff were friendly and checking in and out was easy.

The amenities are available at the front desk on the first floor, and they have a good selection.

The rooms are simply designed, but the walls are decorated with panda art, which is reminiscent of Ueno Zoo, and the shower head is a [ReFa], so it's a room that offers a unique sense of relaxation.

I was able to use the ReFa shower head, so I enjoyed taking a bath.

I was able to choose from two types of breakfast, which was like a breakfast supervised by a nutritionist, and it was a well-balanced and delicious breakfast.

*Bagel set
*Bread set
[Breakfast set contents]
・Daily soup
・Yogurt
・Smoothie
・Drink

You can eat in the cafe on the first floor, or if you want to eat in your room, you can do so😊

Newspapers are also available, so even if you read the newspaper every day, you can stay here with peace of mind.

What I felt after staying here was that it was a hotel where you could relax.

I would like to stay here again🤍

The new hotel in the Ueno area is in a good location, with modern decoration in the room, and good service from the staff. you can walk 3 mins to the Ueno station and around 5 mins to the Ueno market and restaurants area. We book the standard room for 2 and the space in the room is fine. The bathroom space is ok, not too small.

Fantastic hotel. Close to a station, there’s a kombini about a block away with good options for breakfast, rooms and the hotel in general were exceptional for the price. Also exceptionally kind and helpful staff. When Delta screwed up our flights and we had to get another hotel, everyone in our group wanted to go back to this hotel.

I booked a room in 15m2, The room is so small that it is so hard to open 2 luggages at the same time. The only place to open your luggage is in front of the entrance! Despite its location is good, the room only fits for traveler with 2 cabin size luggage.

The wind opening of air conditioner in the room is facing the bed side with pillow, wind is blowing directly to your head.

I have stayed in other similar hotels in the area, I will never book it again.

A part of my luggage case had loosen during travel and the hotel staff was so nice to lend me tools to fix it. The only thing was the staff didn't allow me to do it in my room so I had to laid out my stuff in the hotel lobby to fix the case, which was a bit embarrassing since there're other guests and staff nearby. I see no reason for not being allowed to do the whole thing in my room and return the tools afterwards.

Other than that, the hotel is close to Ueno JR Station. Same size as a typical semi-double room in other hotels. Bathroom is larger than expected with bathtub equipped. You can get a spa pack from the front desk for free.

Receptionist very helpful & passion. There had some restaurant and attraction recommendation at hotel lobby.

I reserved double room for 1 person. Room very tiny and small room size. Luckily, my suitcase is Flip-top luggage, otherwise, i don’t think open suitcases easily. However, price was very expensive around USD 150 per day during my visit period.

Moreover, the location is nearby Ueno station.

This is a very comfortable hotel and if you know your way around Tokyo then this may be a great fit for you. Ueno is not exactly the ‘hippest’ or ‘best’ hood to be in Tokyo for the tourist, but this location, with easy access to Narita-bound trains, the JR Yamanote Loop Line, and Tokyo Metropolitan subway (all just a small one-lane road across the hotel) , does represent great value for travelers who do not mind being based in a average-ok hood. But if you want exciting food options and department stores with its array of food in the basements, then Ueno is probably not for you.

The Resol Ueno is a very comfortable hotel and does provide wonderful comfort. Check in was very fast and the staff are amazing and efficient. I had a pair of guest checking in ahead of me and the staff immediately got another colleague out to assist me when she saw me in line.

Room-wise, it is adequate for one person )I am in the entry level room), and is comparable to hotels in Tokyo with similar class. The toilet has a tub and shower with great strong pressure. Hot water gets heated quickly and the flow rate to fill the tub is fast. Standard Japanese bidet toilet is also present and toiletries have a great scent - personal items like facial cleansers, cotton pads, bath-salts and hair brushes are available in a amenity corner at the main lobby (they even have cosmetic sachets like toner, moisturizer and hair wax), along with drip coffee and tea.

The bed was comfortable and what I like are the individual lamps and lights around the room that can be dimmed to different light levels instead of complete shut off. The TV has mostly local channels and cannot be connected to YouTube or any other streaming platforms, so if that’s your thing then take note.

All in, this hotel gave an amazing first impression of the Resol brand, and I will stay at another Resol when I come back to Japan.

Were at the end of our individual 4 week Japan trip 1 night at Resol Ueno.
Location/general:
Great location directly at Ueno train station (super connection, also metro) and 10 minutes walk to Keisei station (skyliner to Narita Airport). Ca. 20 min walk to Senso-ji Temple and Hoppy-dori (this is kind of Japanese Khaosan road) with great food options. National Museum and the Yanaka district also 15-20 minutes walk very well doable. In the immediate vicinity countless resto options also outdoors, e.g. under the railway tracks in/around the Ameya yokocho. Those who spend more than 2-3 nights in Tokyo should consider choosing 2 locations, one of which is certainly a hotel in this area (Ueno/Asakusa), the other Ginza/Marunouchi (nobler) or Roppongi/Shibuya/Shinjuku (younger).
New stylish-cool hotel, great lobby, younger audience, very friendly professional staff, very good English.
Rooms:
we had No. 10004 "standard semi double room". With 15m2 very small, as booked, you know that & must not negatively influence the review. Windows to open a small gap, all amenities available, fridge, good beds, private bathrooms.
Conclusion:
For us a perfect stay for the last night in Tokyo, the area is great, partly still quite quaint in a positive sense, right left out of the hotel after 50m super Resto/Foodstall.
