A great small hotel that is only a few minutes walk from Asakusa station which has a lift up to the street level . Good size room with toilet separate to bathroom. Floor 9 has a lounge with great river views, microwaves and you can take your tea and toast ( included) up there. Friendly staff and easy checkin. Really enjoyed our stay here

Our school group was really pleased by this small hotel in Asakusa. The rooms are pretty small, but the breakfast on the top floor was perfect. The view from the hotel roof is incredible as well. Security was excellent - all guests return their key on their way out. Convenient walk to several different stations, as well as Sensoji itself.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The room was neat and tidy and we were able to leave our baggage when we checked out and vefore we checked in. There was free, strong coffee and water. Breakfast was white bread toast and jam. The hotel is bear to the metro and JR station and about an hour to Haneda airport.

This boutique hotel is well run, has polite and helpful staff and best of all, direct access to the airport ( must check on Hyperdia on direct trains as there are some trains that require transfer at one / two stops ). From the Toei subway, head for the elevator to A2 exit and the hotel is barely 200 metres away !

The rooms are small as expected of Tokyo standards but well proportioned, cozy and very clean. It also provides a chance to experience how a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan) feels like without the futon but with the comfort of Simmons mattress !

Breakfast was simple but no complaints as it was complemented by views of Sumida River and the Tokyo Skytree.

A bit of a walk to the main attractions of Asakusa and must change trains to places like Tokyo, Shinjuku, Shibuya and Akihabara but easy enough to do so via the Ginza Subway Line and this little "inconvenience" is made up by the cheaper room rates and vast dining options. Offers direct access to Yokohama ! One of the receptionist was so kind to detail how to get there and because of her clear guidelines, I enjoyed a memorable evening at Minato Mirai.

We were looking for someplace to stay which is in the middle of backpackers and posh. Luckily, we found this hotel.

It has a perfect homey ambiance. A perfect refuge after exploring the city.

The location was very accessible. From Narita, you can take the Keisei Sky Access that will go straight to Asakusa line where the nearest exit to the hotel is located.

Walking distance from Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Street Market :)

Rooms were cleaned everyday. Each room has air purifier so even if it's small, it doesn't feel stuffy.

Breakfast was free but very basic.

Staffs were very helpful and spoke good English.

No complains, good choice in Tokyo ;)

We were looking for a hotel in Asakusa that was near the stations and not to expensive for the last two nights on our trip to Japan. It is located within a block of the elevator gate to the Toei Asakusa Station and maybe a 5 minute walk to the Ginza Line Asakusa Station. The check-in process was very quick because we paid online with a reservation through their website. The front desk employees were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the third floor. It had two beds and was very clean. Like most hotels in Tokyo, space is limited but the room was very clean and even had a small fridge. The hotel is along a fairly busy road but noise was never an issue from the hall nor road. The is free wifi and had no issues with speed or connection. When I reserved the room, I didn't realize breakfast was included. Every morning on the top floor, you have the choice of western or Japanese breakfast. The view of the Skytree and Sumida River was a bonus.

The location is hard to beat. Kaminarimon and Sensoji is within 5 minutes as well as older restaurants for everything from tempura to unagi. Asakusa is an older part of Tokyo. The hotel had a lot of information in English along with employee recommendations for various types of food. As with most hotels in Japan, they loaned us umbrellas when it rained on one of the days. We were flying out of Haneda Airport, so the train on Asakusa Line went straight to Haneda without transfers.

I will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area for a night or longer. The hotel will also hold your bags.

Great hotel. I booked it because of the uniformly good reviews on TRIP ADVISOR. And they were right about how good a deal it is.

Amazingly low price for the quality and I would definitely stay here again.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW:

1. GETTING THERE: From Narita it is easy and inexpensive. Buy a ticket at the TRAIN TICKETS stand for Keisei railway (NOT JR railway). It is just across from where you emerge
from customs in Terminal 1. Get a ticket for the SKY ACCESS train to Asakusa. (NB: This is different from the faster and more expensive SKYLINER which goes to another a station in Tokyo and where you have to transfer to another train to get to Asakusa , and then arrive in
Asakusa at another slightly farther station). This ticket costs around 1200 yen to Asakusa. The ticket agents speak English and will tell you the time of the next train and the platform (which is downstairs and a 3 minute walk). Watch the visual display on the train for the ASAKUSA station (about an hour from Narita). Then follow the directions on the hotel’s website. They have actual pictures of where to go when you get off the train. It works perfectly and within about 5 mins of getting off the train you will be at the front desk of the hotel.

2. STAFF: They generally speak English and are EXTREMELY helpful.

3. BREAKFAST: For less than $5 (buy a ticket from the front desk the night before) you can get a special, big bento breakfast. BUT the complimentary breakfast (especially the Japanese “rice” one) is very Japanese and very filling. You eat it in the 9th floor room with a great view of the river and the SKYTREE (but like the rest of the hotel it is pretty small and if you come at the wrong time—around 8am—it can get very crowded).

4. ROOM: I was in a single room. It is very well but simply decorated in Japanese style BUT IT IS EXTREMELY TINY. It is basically just the bed on a tatami matt with a small alcove and a really small desk with a tiny stool. There was almost no room to open my Samsonite suitcase and no stand or furniture to put it on. Because of the tatami you have to take your shoes off when you enter the room and there is almost no space to do that and no place where it is easy to stand to put your shoes on or take them off. Japanese always wear slip on shoes but if you wear tie shoes, good luck! The bathroom is a miracle of engineering efficiency (an all in one plastic unit with everything—shower, sink, toilet—built into the one unit) but it is
certainly not fancy. It does have one of these Japanese toilets with all the bells and whistles.

A great hotel, this is a modern ryokan style hotel, the floor is tatami so it gives a closer experience to the Japanese world. The location is wonderful, the instructions on the hotels website to get there from the subway are super accurate which makes it easy for the tired traveler who just wants to find "home". The front desk staff is extremely polite, Naomi the front desk manager is super kind and always eager to help with any questions we had (and we had many). The beds are super comfortable, bathroom is awesome with world famous Japanese toilet which was the best. The restaurant and breakfast are traditional Japanese style which was exactly what we were looking for. The location is excellent, a few streets walking distance from the SensoJi Temple, the area is quite functional as there is a Family Mart (7 11 type of mini market store) where you can purchase water and grab a bite. I would definitely recommend this hotel and if I'm ever back in Tokyo I will probably stay here again. Ps. We booked thru Agora which is where we found the best price and it was worth every cent.

This hotel room was pretty tiny (typical Japan) but they go all out to make it comfortable with all kinds of thoughtful details including a blackout curtain, a little desk, a teapot and tea, yukatas, slippers, toileteries. It's also spotless and quiet. We loved staying in this neighborhood. There was lots of great shopping and food, but you get to stay a little bit away from the craziness of other parts of Tokyo. Staff at Hatago is lovely and the breakfast was very nice.

Ok- this is it! In the under or around 10,000 yen a night category for Tokyo this is a winner! Perfect for foreign visitors : ryokan-ish, but with a real bed and your own bath. The room I was in was (even) smaller than a business hotel room, and so was the unit bath (sorry, but for this price range, you get a unit bath.) But what - did you come to Tokyo to sit in your room playing video games? I hope not!

So let's get to the good points. The rooms ares lightly worn, but clean. The unit bath was spotless. The location is convenient to many attractions in Asakusa, and near the Asakusa subway line. There are tatami mats. Shoji screens on the windows. Everything smells good. The front help wears yukatas. The (included) breakfast was tasty, and had a top floor view! Very few drunken salarymen wandering the hallways (probably because the entire property is non-smoking.) And best of all - the overall decor gives your trip to Japan just enough of that that requisite Edo fantasy vibe. Without a backache the next day.
