When we reserve a 3-people room, it is normal to expect that the rate is the same for 1-3 customer(s). I reserved a 3-people room from booking.com at Ueno New Izu Hotel from Oct 24 to 28 without noticing that I would be punished by the policy of booking.com if I had not stated clearly how many people would stay...

I stayed here for a couple of days with my son in a twin room. They have a mix of western and Japanese style rooms -- we stayed in a Japanese style room. The location is excellent, an easy walk to the fast train from Narita, to the subway, and also to the excellent Ueno park, which is a nice...

We opted for tatami experience and checked in into this little charming and quiet hotel in Ueno, Tokyo. The room, a family room is so clean and being an older establishment there is a nice and comfortable environment. The tatami, used to sleep on the floor were clean and soft, just nice. I must give a rate of 10 for...

Stayed in a western style double room, which had exactly enough room for us and our stuff, and little more. The room was quiet, which was a surprise given our location, and clean. The mattress was a bit harder than we were used to (I may have compared it to a cinderblock), but after a flight across the Pacific it...

Stayed in a single room with shared bath-room for 2 nights, which only shared by 2 rooms, so it is totally acceptable that I'd never crush the time using bathroom with another room. Clean room and bed. Provide all basic needs for a stay. Very good location that only within 10min walk from Ueno station. Very convenient that a convenience...

The room we rented was for a family of 3 people. It was clean and worth the money we had paid for it. Everyday they changed the linens even our kimonos. The location was great and very near the market called Ameioko where you can buy anything under the sun. Staff were very helpful and courteous even if they couldn't...

Japanese style tatami mat triple room was very tight fit for 3 and probably 2 people. Private bathroom has small toilet and sink area, bath and shower ok. Location is good for Ueno Station and Ueno Park area. Price and stay is decent for overnight stay.

Close to the trainstation, good for sightseeing in Tokyo and for the trip to the airport. Rooms are not big but clean and have a good shower. Staff is friendly, they brought our luggage to room because we were to early for the check in time. Towels are provided for free.

The hotel is 5-7min from Ueno stations. Follow the instruction from the hotel, it is easy to find. If you have heavy luggage, it is better to go under the subway exit for lift. Need to go behind the Nissay building, may a bit confusing for the first time visit, after that just go straight. Room is ok, not very...

I had a good stay at this hotel. The staff is friendly and competent. A bonus point is the quick email response. The room is clean, comfortable bed, fast internet, a bonus is the water kettle and a bathroom with toiletries. The location is great - just few minutes away from Ueno station. Thank you!

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
