TBH, the main reason I chose this hotel was because they offered an early wake up call service which other hotels don't seem to do anymore - had an early flight out of Narita and didn't want to miss the train - always get a wake up call as just-in-case back up plan ! However, the early morning call did...

We booked for 2 nights stay for this hotel. We reach the hotel earlier than the check in time so we kept our luggage with the reception after we have done all the necessary check in. It was quite fast. Staffs are able to converse in English well. So no issue in conversing with them. The hotel is located nearby...

We reserved rooms for two stays, firstly for six nights and then for nine nights, with a 14 day gap for our tour of southern Honshu. We arrived by taxi from TCAT at 1pm and two reception staff brought a trolley to collect our cases. All the luggage was in our room when we returned to check in at 4pm. Our...

The hotel is near the Asakusa Temple and station too. I bought a lot of snack and souvenirs nearby the hotel. There is...

Staff were excellant. the room smelled a bit of cigarette smoke but thats Japan. Bought a airfreshner all good. Lots of local shops and markets - perfect place to stay and very reasonable

I spent 1 night here before my flight to Europe. This little hotel is everything you can ask for! It's perfectly located some 3 min. away from the Senso-ji temple, as well as from the Ginza metro line. It's clean, the stuff speaks English (just enough) and there are a lot of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. Furthermore, Tokyo Sky...

We only had 2 days in Tokyo but were delighted with this little hotel. It was excellent value for money, great quality and good size room, friendly service and good breakfast. The location is also brilliant - 5 minutes away from Senso-ji Temple, the underground and plenty of buses, very easy to get anywhere in the city and to the...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
