I have recommenced this hotel to my family and friends but forgot to post my review.

In our past couple trips, we always stay at Ueno as it directly connected to Narita airport without further train/subway transfer. Furthermore, the Shinkansens to major destinations starts here that you, for sure, to get a seat without reservation.

Staffs are friendly as you expected in Japan. We had day ski trip and needed to leave hotel before breakfast hours, they prepared fresh bakery and coffee/tea outsides of breakfast area for early bird.

Not even mentions the shopping & dining options at Ameyoko and Ueno station.

The only downside is they won't keep your luggage overnight before or after check in. If you are going to have side trip from Tokyo and don't want to carry your luggage around, Guest 1 is not for you.

I think this hotel was a terrific value, excellent service, new building and great location. Yeah for extremely nice and many could speak excellent English. A few caveats are that I used to live in Tokyo, so I'm used to the Japanese standard: very small rooms, no view. The included breakfast is Japanese Western style - lots of fresh baked goods, eggs, corn soup.... If you make an effort, there are English explanations for almost every accessory in the room: heating/cooling, alarm clock, and the now- ubiquitous Washlette toilets which use a warm spray of water rather than you using toilet paper after a bowel movement. The hotel entrance is a little tricky to find at first because it's on a Side-street one Block removed from the Main Street; but that means it's quiet! Location is a two minute walk from the south entrance of Ueno station . Ueno is now a busy place with tons of shopping and eating options. All in all I would definitely stay here again

In fact the hotel is quite easy to find using JR Ueno Asakusa Exit - Go up to the footbridge, go straight and go down using the escalator, turn right. It can be done within 5 minutes. The surrounding is quite quiet, though security in Tokyo is never a problem. As it is located near the railway hub, you can easily access to Narita by Skyliner of Keisei, Ginza and Asakusa by Ginza Line, and all places near Yamanote Line.
Hotel is using machine to handle payment. First you insert the card hotel provided, pay the amount using cash and you can go to your room with that. English version interface is available. If you want to pay the bill with credit card, you have to tell the staff to arrange as the machine does not seem to support oversea cards.
Room is small as expected, but the bed was nice and comfortable and extra stuffs like integrated humidifier and air purifier, coin-laundry were provided. Do not expect any views - as the hotel is located in an alley surrounded by buildings, which is normal as city hotels.
Just forget its breakfast - too few options with undesired taste and it is better to get a sandwich or Origiri in Lawson around the corner.

I stayed for 3 pleasant and comfortable nights in a single superior no-smoking room.
Excellent location in Ueno with an easy access from Narita Airport by using the Keisei Line ( I did use the ordinary train Limited Express and it was just great). Once at Ueno Station is really just very few steps away and very easy to find it. That is very useful for the following days to take the metro and visiting Tokyo. The area has hundreds of good and well priced restaurants. A lot of convenience stores such as 7 Eleven as well.
It is probably a new property , everything is shining brand new and extremely clean. The room was quite small but it had all the comfort and amenities you would expect in your hotel. True may be too small if you have more than 1 piece of luggage. The bathroom had a great shower and free toiletries were offered on a daily basis.
A small breakfast was served every morning downstairs in adjacent room by the reception area. Wi-fi worked really great while in the room much less in the ground floor. The staff speaks English and I had no communication problems at all.

It's easy to get to from both JR and Keisei stations. Watch their Facebook videos. Basically it's on the same street as 2 other hotels - Mitsui Garden Hotel and Touganeya Hotel. Checking in was interesting - you present your passport and they give you a room card which you then put into a machine and press "check-in" - the card will be encoded with your room number. Rooms are immaculate. Everything works, including the humidifier/air purifier and super comfortable bed. Breakfast is included too. The bread rolls are delicious. It's superb value, the best I've encountered so far around the Ueno Station vicinity.

Hotel is around 10mins away from Ueno station where you can get all your food. There's also a convenient store nearby.
The room is small (typical of most hotel in Japan) but comfortable and clean. The hotel faces a small street, so there's no noisy traffic even though I was at a room on the 3rd level and faces the road. Breakfast is served at the small cafeteria at lobby, though I did not utilise it as I was usually out and about before breakfast timing.
Hotel staff speaks fluent English so language is not an issue. They also offer you bottled drinks in return when you don't require housekeeping.

Ueno Station is one of the station where you can collect your Japan rail pass, so if the airport queue for Japan rail pass is too long (which it usually is, and queue is at least an hour long), you can consider collecting at Ueno station where the queue is much shorter.

The room is clean and the location is very good. It is not far away from an elevator from the underground walkways from the station, so you do not need to carry your suitcase across the bridge. Breakfast offer is helpful. Bed is firm and good. The room is a bit small, but this is a standard for Japanese business hotels. The only problem is that some rooms face a wall. Outside the window, there is a wall of the next building. I have booked a room with "city view", but the room faced a wall. Rooms around *09 to *11 face a wall.

The hotel is easily located. 5-10 mins walk to the substation. The hotel is very clean and delicious simple and healthy breakfast. Room size is small but clean complete with all amenities.

Location - right opposite a chinese restaurant, Korean and Japanese restaurant. A 10 mins walk to the nearest 7-11 convenient shop and further down the road approx 15mins walk to huge local TAKEYA hypermarket building blocks where you can get all you want souvenier, drinks, fruits and many other local foods..

Reception speaks little english but very helpful and polite.

Located right in the Central Tokyo, Ueno area, hotel is popular for transient guest. Rooms are small, compact ideal for solo travelers. Need to talk about the cooling temperature with the staff at reception. The new technology of washroom & WC is something one must learn before going to Japan. Food has very limited option, most of which is bland. suggest to eat from Mc Donalds near the hotel, right across the road.

One of the better hotels I have stayed in within Tokyo. Very comfortable, quiet, great beds and and an ac which you can adjust yourself even in the autumn/winter months!
Breakfast was good enough. Staff very friendly and speaks good English. Close to the station. Can recommend.
