Lovely rooms, fab food and nothing too much trouble, what else could you ask for? Perfect! From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble, early breakfast no trouble, route planning no problem actually printed out three options, great service.

We have stayed at The Pilgrims a few times now and each time we get a warm welcome from Sally & Jools. The rooms are done to a high spec, the beds are so comfortable and the breakfast is fresh, local & tasty. Well worth a stay. I am yet to eat at their restaurant as we are always off...

The first time we went was a lovely pleasant experience. Then we went back in November and must of caught Sally on a bad day as she was rude and quite stand offish , not a pleasant atmosphere at all. We won't go back!

We came upon Pilgrims when needing somewhere to stay whillst visiting an elderly relative. We have now stayed there three times in 12 months, Sally and Jools have got something very special going. The food is locally sourced and excellently prepared and served. Pretty well everything you eat, including the bread, jam and marmalade at breakfast, is home-made. Sally runs...

What a lovely place! The rooms are comfortable and stylish and the bathrooms are opulent with a huge and marvellously deep bath! The glorious food served in the charming little restaurant didn't disappoint either. It was also wonderful to see so many locally sourced ingredients. They have a really wide choice of dishes for a reasonably small restaurant and the...

Not quite sure what drew us towards The Pilgrims, but all I can say is that whatever it was I am grateful. We arrived Saturday afternoon, to a quiet oasis that was perfect. After a few drinks in the bar we retired to our rooms to freshen up for dinner.. The rooms are divine, not the largest I have stayed...

There are no terms glowing enough to describe the welcome and care we had at Pilgrims. The rooms are beautiful, every detail catered for. Farrow and Ball paint, gorgeous big wet room with huge bath and separate shower, king size, comfy bed (a must for my 6'4 husband) and lovely beams overhead. Breakfast was just delicious; I want to learn...

Lovely people and a lovely room but most of all fantastic food and all of it local. From the fantastic kippers and poached egg at breakfast to the magnificent salted caramel ice cream for dessert. Come and stay, but not when I want to.

Jools and Sally are wonderful relaxed hosts. Rooms are spotlessly clean and very well appointed and just made for you to enjoy complete relaxation. Lovely quiet courtyard outside where you can sit (table and chairs provided) and also a set of boules should you want to play! Jools is the most wonderful chef, breakfast was piping hot and absolutely cooked...

I stayed here for one night for work and I am so glad I picked it! My room was lovely and cosy with a huge bathtub (and I actually had a bath for the first time in 2 years it was so welcoming! I normally only shower!). Dinner - well, this was delicious. Cooked by Julian himself, it is worth...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pilgrims is a 4 star Restaurant with Rooms and holds 2 AA Rosettes. It's as relaxed as a country pub but the food is better than many a city restaurant - not least because all the ingredients come from 'just over the brow of the hill.' And the rooms are simply stunning, Egyptian cotton, king size beds, roll top baths and walk-in showers. The Pilgrims - the best of Somerset on a plate. ... more   less
