Our first time to Japan so initially surprised at how small the room was, but as we travelled around the country realised that this was normal. Our room was on a non-smoking floor which was great as smoking is allowed in some of the rooms....More
Really small rooms (but clean) compared to western standards. No access to one side of the bed. Seems to be a standard trait for Japan. Breakfast was Japanese style, but ok as long as you are prepared to have a go with local food. As...More
Stay 1 night as we are moving out to Osaka next day. 5 min walk to Shinagawa station. Just nice for a 2A1C. Breakfast was really simple. Clean hotel. Room is really small but for the price, we expected.

Toyoko Inn Shinagawaeki Konanguchi Tennozu Tokyo/Shinagawa
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa
and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
