2021 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
The luxury of simplicity, the care taken over every detail, surrounded by nature More than 40 hectares of pure Mediterranean; olive trees, cypresses, lavender, lemon trees, pines and 10 hectares of autochthonous grapes; Callet, Prensal Blanc, Giró Ros and Monastrell which with time will deliver their bounty. A place where nature is uninhibited, growing freely with no restraints, where real flavours can be rediscovered through the simplest of foods, the fruits of the surrounding landscape. Textures to delight the eye and the perfume of olive oil leaves an indelible mark on the memory. A place to find the best version of yourself.

The hotel is stunning - the views are incredible as are the hotel grounds. The hotel has a very high-end feel - the main building, rooms and communal areas are all finished to a very high standard. Equally, the bed lined, pillows, towels etc. are all excellent quality. The food, in our view, was also to a high standard although I would agree with some comments regarding the choice being a bit limited. The only downside from our perspective was the service. The service wasn't bad, it just wasn't what you'd expect when paying £500 a night nor was it in keeping with the standard set elsewhere (noted above). There was a lot of inconsistency depending who served you, it was often difficult to get a drink round the pool and service round the pool seemed to start later each day. For the price you're paying to be there and the price you pay for food and drink I felt the service needed to be more polished.

Beautiful, peaceful property - great for getting away from it all. Very helpful, attentive staff and good food. BBQ under the stars was a highlight. Room was large and comfortable, amenities were all good and property and its surrounds are stunning (and great to explore on foot).

There are some great features to the hotel; attentive and professional staff, beautiful setting and outdoor dining areas, nice walking trails. Also the breakfast is great. The food, however lets it down. Its not that the food is bad , I think its average but the point is that for the price point they charge for the food and the room its terrible value. Firstly there is a set menu for lunch and dinner every day, that's fine but if you want an alternative from the separate menu they need 24 hours notice. There may be well be a practical reason for this but not acceptable for a 5 star hotel that I am paying 575 euro a night for. Wednesday nights dinner 62 per person, Thursday 80 per person, Saturday tasting 80 per person. The dinner on Thursday had a fruit salad for dessert. I mean the standard fruit salad nothing special. I am not sure that has any place on a set 62 euro menu. We had a fantastic tasting menu in March Fosh in Palma earlier in the week , 85 Euro per person. This has a Michelin star as does Bens d'Avail and DNIS where prices for the tasting menu are 75 to 90 Euro. The point being that you cannot charge Michelin restaurant prices for non- Michelin quality food . Even if it was close I wouldn't mind but its way off. The hotel does get great reviews , so I thought I was onto a winner when I booked it. But it's essentially an overpriced restaurant with 25 rooms approximately and a pool. I believe a 5 star hotel that costs this much should be able to carry itself even if its poring rain. This is even more relevant in a more remote location such as this where you can't entertain yourself in the city. So for all those who give it such good reviews let me ask. If you were unlucky enough for it to be raining for your 4 or 5 days there what would you do; Average restaurant, for almost 600 euro you get a small room, no bath, no hotel bar , small TV, small gym, no bath, no real communal or library area. I think its style over substance for this one, that's why I wouldn't recommend it. I always think some of the negative reviews are biased but I have actually never reviewed a hotel in my life before so I am not bitter! But I do feel robbed.

My husband and I recently stayed at Finca Serena and were extremely impressed with their staff and their attitude to treat customers with care and compassion. During these times of Covid outbreaks and added stress when traveling abroad, the team at Finca Serena were outstanding in making our stay a memorable time. Laura at the front desk was an example of someone willing to go above and beyond in responding to guest needs. Laura assisted with many requests and changes that we made during our stay. Finca Serena reminds us of a a sprawling Spanish hacienda, complete with a vineyards and an olive press. The food was excellent(make sure and pre-order the lobster stew). Our server: Wing, did an outstanding job during our al fresco lunches. When in Palma Mallorca, make sure and include the Finca Serena part of your itinerary!
