I've stayed on two separate occasions, with my mum and two dogs. The accommodation and food have been exception on both occasion. Staff are friendly and approachable, and the walks along the river are great for my dogs. Thank you and we will see all soon x

Have visited the Grapes in the past, but o dear since our last visit the quality of the food was no where near the standard we have had in the past., the staff did their best and are very pleasant .Will have to think before returning.

We were staying nearby and ate in The Grapes restaurant which for some reason is not listed on Tripadvisor. We ordered a dry wine and a pint of cider at the bar. The wine came from a Stowell's Wine Box Cooler on the wall and that should have alerted us. The wine when served was warm and we asked and...

The hotel was exactly as expected. The owners and staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. In the centre of the village ideal for long walks or catching the bus. Great location. The breakfast was a full cooked one. The were a selection of cereals, toast, spreads and juices.

Stayed here for one night and was very impressed. Not trying to be 5 star but very good quality in all respects. Very clean, comfortable, all necessaries provided, friendly efficient staff, excellent breakfast. Good restaurant / bar meals. Good value for money

We stayed here one night and had a comfy room and large bathroom. Cosy and quiet. We ate in the bar and the food was pub grub and tasty. We had a deal and would return with a deal. Decor was a little dated but friendliness of staff made up for it. B

We only went in for a lunch with friends. It is a pub at the heart of the community, serving good food and drink. We were made very welcome and look forward to returning. As we didn't stay overnight, we can't comment on the accommodation, but we were struck by the cleanliness downstairs.

The Grapes Hotel is well located in the middle of the village and could do with a bit of an update. The room we stayed in had the washbasin in the room with an en suite shower and Loo. It was a bit upsetting to find that the only other couple staying had paid half of what we had by...

We stayed two nights in Newcastleton and ate here both nights as the food was so good. The pub itself is average inside, a little dark if you sit in the back bit and I didn't particularly like eating surrounded by dogs. However, the food was amazing. Served in about 40 minutes and the portions were huge. The chicken curry...

Stayed here for 3nts at the end of a trip around Scotland. Peter, Gayle and staff were excellent hosts and nothing was too much for them. I had a double ensuite room that was really cozy and warm. It had a large bathroom but I found the shower cubical a tad on the small side but that is probably down...
