If you ever wanted to have accommodation in a monastery, this is it. On top of the Albis mountain range above Zurich lake, amidst green fields, there is a beautiful, restful and magnificently restored monastery. Simple but great accommodation and food. Have lunch or coffee in the rose garden and enjoy fresh air

I stayed here for a conference and have to say the building and grounds are beautiful. The room is simple but clean and the shower pressure is great! The food was simple but tasty. The down side was you had three choices. If you do not eat vegetables you could be hungry. The negatives were it was 90 degrees out and...

Not to everyones taste. But a nice hotel in converted monastery. Basic rooms but good conference hotel to get away from everything. Not often you stay in a hotel with a kloster and church. Quite remote location

We stayed here for four nights as a base for exploring the region. It is in a great position, handy for Luzern, Zug, Zurich, Mount Pilatus and Mount Titlis. Very peaceful, very clean and modern. Lovely grounds and a café that stays open until 11.

I was here on a seminar for 5 days with work on first Impressions I wasn't sure about the place the bedrooms are very basic, but I did sleep very well and the shower was fantastic. The resurant is based downstairs in a old cellar which is quite nice. Food is excellent and all home grow. Views are spectacular from...

This place is nestled amid a beautiful landscape. This automatically makes it great, with windows in the rooms looking out, you can hear the tolling of the cattle bells as you wake in the morning and as the sun goes down. The room was perfectly comfortable and clean (with an amazing shower, if that's something you care about), and the...

We had a group retreat and it's a very good location for such events. Very close to Zurich, but in a quiet area, I believe it might also be a good starting point for hikes. The hotel has all the necessary modern amenities, while preserving the old atmosphere. Staff was also very friendly!

Just had a 2 day meeting here with about 20 colleagues. The property is great since there are plenty of places to go exploring, yet the seminar room and restaurant are easy to find and are set up nicely. There's a great hidden 'bar' in the basement with all rock walls as well. Food at the restaurant was decent, a...

If you love unspoiled rural landscapes, enjoy a sense of history and prefer to stay at places with character rather than at cookie-cutter hotel chains, Kloster Kappel has your name on it! It's located on a secondary highway from Zug/Cham to Zurich, west of the Albis, and you cannot miss the large monastic complex. However, don't expect any signs about...

AbouIt an hour out of Zurich is this renovated monastery. The attached church is still active and on Wed. night there is singing. It was hard to figure out where the registration/lobby was. I had a single room which turned out to be a double room facing south to the Alps. From my bed, through the windows I could see...
