The entrance to the sea, however, isn't much... you arrive at a beach, you enter through a "side" door, you cross a room which then around lunch is the dining room of the restaurant on the beach (it's called, I think, Acqua ) and you get to the umbrellas.
On the positive side, however, the lido has a nice bar with a very large and open room, albeit covered, which allows you to have lunch with salads, an ice cream or delicatessen dishes, with the pleasure of seeing the sea.
Sea of Porto Cesareo which, obviously, is very beautiful, clean, fine sand. Umbrellas really, really stuck together, too much!
Well made room, but ours (we were a couple) I imagine it was a room designed for a family with children: in fact the built-in wardrobe had two "folding" beds that could be lowered... but by doing so there was nothing on that wall: neither a shelf, nor a drawer, nor even a vase, which made the furnishings of the room (a Superior) very spartan. A flaw that, after a few days, weighed on us a bit.
Even the balcony of the room isn't much, it overlooks the side of the hotel and the sea can only be seen from the corner of the balcony :-((
Average quality breakfast, but the fresh pasticciotto was often a much appreciated plus. Too bad about the time: breakfast ends at 10:00... on holiday... at the seaside... This is truly unacceptable for me, having to set the alarm for 9:30 to have time to get ready and go down for breakfast , on holiday... And then at 9.45 unfortunately there was little stuff left. A very serious flaw for me.
Every evening there is an event: this certainly makes the hotel very pleasant and, in part, explains the very high price requested by the structure... The typical Salento dinner, the dinner with live music, the aperitif on the terrace at by the pool... in short, you can certainly perceive the structure's desire to make guests' holidays special.
There is covered parking, another important plus.
We also tried the SPA which positively surprised us: Sauna, Turkish Bath, Jacuzzi... All very comfortable, clean. Then in June there was no one.
We also had a massage and I compliment the staff.
In summary: a pleasant structure, facing the sea (even if you can't see it from the rooms), with swimming pool, many services, parking, SPA... the only flaws are the breakfast which ends at 10 and the beach with umbrellas too close together.

Of the beach department we embrace and thank affectionately our Carletto, Giovanni for the beach management and Andrea at the restaurant. All three would like a gold medal for what they can do and "endure" every day.
Thank you for the nice evenings organized and for all the advice you gave us so that we could enjoy the comforts that the structure offers. Thank you very much, see you next time. Luigi, Carolina and baby G.
There are about 40 rooms with a really nice modern roof top pool and bar. The rooms are very modern and stylish compared to most Italian hotels this is one of the best.
We had half board which was nice the breakfast was good but not really replenished or thought about properly. We are difficult eaters and so we are hard to please the dinner was nice and a very quiet 3 course set meal served to us every night. They only served water or wine which we don’t drink so it would have been nice to be offered alternative soft drinks. There is onsite underground parking which is very convenient. The beach is across the road from the hotel and has a private section for guests which you pay extra for out of Season it’s £15 euros per day for 2 and in the high season it’s £30 euros per day for 2 so very expensive and we were lucky indeed that we had loverly hot weather the water was calm and clear turquoise blue just beautiful against the white sand of the beach. The non private beach had a lot of the locals and so I can onl6 imagine how packed it is in the summer. There is a tavola Calda restaurant on the beach connected to Le Dune with great snack and lovely Pizza. I would say you need to get used to Italian staff attitudes and take them with a pinch of salt, they are very laid back in their approach to customer service so don’t expect service that you may get in Dubai for similar cost. It is very expensive but worth it just for the beach alone and the climate was great for September.
excellent food, attentive and professional staff. A huge flaw is the beach service with unqualified staff, umbrellas too close together and little attention to the cleanliness of the sand despite the cost, this unfortunately had a negative impact on a holiday that could have been truly superlative... I would stay here again for the property but not for the beach..

Good food.
However, the hotel is overrated and the value for money is excessive.
Unfortunately we often found the private beach dirty and not cleaned by the lifeguards: when I asked them to clean it they came with a net and gave a "sweep" which certainly does not represent the service that a 4 star hotel should offer.
The themed evenings with live music are also nice.

I must say that the chef has certainly changed because one could savor an imaginative but inexperienced hand. The dishes were quite bland.
I had specified the problem of intolerances before my arrival....but alas😔😔 with little result both for the desserts served at the end of the meal and at breakfast which is why I tended to prepare a small savory snack to take with me in the morning when unexpectedly, I was rudely reprimanded by the service staff in the person of "Giulia" who, not happy, followed me the following day as if I were a criminal to be kept under surveillance... given that I had to go to the village supermarket for snacks) to a colleague of his.
On the other hand, top cleanliness, top sea, and all the rest of the staff provided excellent service, kind, polite and attentive.

The room was sold me in use when I entered the balcony, there was only a tiny tiny small glimpse of blue water to be seen on far left while standing on the balcony, so that was a first thing where the hotel was betraying me.
Secondly, even though room was sold with an A/C, it didn't work. It was explained to me that because of covid19 they have turned of the A/C.
Because the air conditioner didn't work, the air in my room was stail, too hot, and didn't have enough oxygen. I was trying to help the unpleasant situation by opening the balcony door, which only led to a next problem: the water pumps of the hotel are really loud and they are going on through the whole night, so sleeping with the balcony door open was impossible.
Mr Payne's mattress chec
Mattress in my room was WAY too hard. I can't recommend an overnight stay in Le Dune for anyone who wants to sleep.
"Go bed and breakfast as the food in the beach restaurants is very reasonable and tasty This is one of the most popular beaches and queues"Read full review
