One must remember that this is a very old property so don't compare with the modern inns. O.k so the carpets could do with a little t.l.c as some of the decor, but the suburb breakfast and the friendly manager, locals made our stay very pleasant.

As others have said this place is filthy. No proper locks on the room doors, just 4 button mechanical key pads. In bedroom with thump of juke box from downstairs. Difficult to get any luggage up stairs and through the fire door which needs two hands to operate key pad and open. Small uncomfortable bed from ikea or similar. It...

There are very few times I've walked into a pub on a Friday lunchtime and found it totally devoid of any customers. Yes, instinct should have told us to walk out again. The barmaid and the one other staff member we saw were friendly enough and well meaning but appear to have little experience in working in a pub. We...

Stayed here before visiting friends the next day. Room was very clean & spacious enough for what was needed. Arrived after a long journey and contradictory to other reviews I found the landlady very accommodating, and even went out there way to serve me a bar snack despite arriving after food had stopped being served. Breakfast was more than enough...

Went for Sunday carvery after seeing a notice board outside advertising 2 courses ( carvery and a dessert ) for £10.50. Walking in to the pub was like walking into the smelliest public toilets probably worst! Staff sat at tables with the few locals no one stood behind the bar no welcome whatsoever. Went through to the restaurant to be...

Looks lovely from the outside but was dirty and a bit smelly. The dining area looks like it has never had a lick of paint. The salad cream sachets were almost a year out of date. The family bedroom was a really lovely size and plenty of room but again not very clean with cup marks still on bedside cabinets...

Firstly I would say that the rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfy, my real gripe is over the cleanliness of the rooms that standard of the food and to be really honest the rudeness of the landlady. I arrived around 5pm after a 5 hour journey and the setting up of a exhibition stand at the nearby...

Visiting relatives in Exminster we popped in to The Stowey Arms for a lunchtime drink on a Thursday. Friendly reception from bar lady and a few of regulars at bar. Some real ales and local beer, reasonable size with dining area at one end and a pool table at other. Large car park at front.

Just popped into this pub as driving by for a bit of lunch and a few drinks on a Tuesday. The food was very standard but eatable. There was 3 of us and we all thought the same. After food we stayed for a few drinks and a few games of pool which was fine. Would go back for drinks...

We held my sister in laws funeral wake here and the buffet was excellent with loads of choice and very good value. It's nice to have the separate room that we could use too rather than in the bar. I would highly recommend it for a get together with finger food.
