Sadly, having purchased a gift voucher for my partner’s birthday we were very let down. Left at a cold drafty table for 45 mins, having to find a member of staff to take our food order and another drink order. Very disappointed. Not enough staff and being near the bar it was so noisy we couldn’t hear ourselves talking.

Overall we had a nice stay. We had a problem with no heating in our bedroom so we’re changed to another room which was great. I think it was meant to be an upgraded room, no 1 in the hotel but honestly the smell of drains was so awful. Restaurant service was very slow and I have the say the food was average. Very fatty and chewy steak. Didn’t really feel like anyone was looking after us. The spa is the biggest plus and really is fantastic. Just a shame that as a guest of the hotel, you don’t get to use the spa facilities for free. They change an extra £50! It was a nice stay but we won’t be back again.

We chose to stay at Kesgrave hall for Christmas this year. The grounds were fantastic, food was brilliant (as always) & we had plenty to drink also. Xmas Eve we were greeted like we were one of the team. As we were on a package we took full advantage of the menu. Having Fishcakes, Fillet steak and doughnuts. Xmas day breakfast was brought to our room where my son loved his Jam on toast and porridge :). We went up to the restaurant for lunch enjoying champagne Canapés. The canapés were something out of Willy Wonkers factory. With parfait dressed as a Christmas pudding!! This was followed by a starter of parfait, intermediate course of lobster (my son loved that !!), Turkey lots of it and Xmas pudding job done. Until the evening which was lovely where Bruce brought the biggest cheese plater I've ever seen. Boxing Day again a lovely experience with family doing us for lunch. the roast beef was lovely. The checkout was a lovely experience with Sarah G explaining the whole bill. My only grumble was a lady hovering over my shoulder. I think she was a guest, so I left the chair whilst she made her complaint about the lack of food on the buffets and how she didn't feel special. (none of this being true as I felt there was plenty of food and VERY special). All in all a great stay and I would recommend anyone to stay over Christmas !! (ignore the crazy cat lady though)

Treated to dinner this evening with family, fully booked so the service was slow however, the management and the customer service were supportive and understanding of our frustration, even though this was not aired as they had pre-emoted this. We all enjoyed our meal when it arrived and left content, a big thanks to the staff and the management this evening, highly recommend if you are in the area :-)

We visited for Sunday lunch and the food was fantastic. A warm welcome on arrival and had some drinks in the lounge before moving to the restaurant for lunch. Both opted for roast beef and it was so good. Melt in your mouth beef with a good amount of roast potatoes and vegetables. Unrushed service in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. We then had a lovely desert followed by coffee. Will definitely return
