Pyrgos Adrachti is set in one of the highest points of the village Kastraki in a quiet amphitheatric complex with a backyard view to the Meteora rocks. From any window or balcony of the hotel our visitors get the chance to view these gigantic rocks, green forests of pine trees as well as almond and walnut trees that have the most unbelievable scent/aroma during the Spring season. All rooms have an essence of wood and rock that co-exists with the surrounding environments and exceptional view to the Meteora rocks, while every room is differently decorated in a special style to accommodate. These romantic spaces are fully equipped with up-to-date facilities and luxuries, such as en-suite facilities, central heating, phone, fridge, air conditioning and access to the Internet. Parking facilities are also available.

This outstanding little hotel in the heart of the Meteora is a must stay when you journey to see the monasteries of this inspiring area. The rooms are spacious and impeccably cleaned. The breakfast is a full and delicious Greek feast of salad, cheese, omelette, fruit and delicious coffee. As an American, I appreciated having filter coffee as an option to the stronger Greek version.

Our room faced two of the incredible mountain spires in the area as well as the village of Kastraki, where we found great service, inexpensive Greek feasts, and generous local people..

The owners of the hotel and their son Tomas could not have been kinder or more generous with their time.

My wife and I will return when we travel to this gem of Greek geology.

Very comfortable room, with a terrace overlooking the famous Meteora rocks. Friendly and welcoming owners, delicious breakfast. A stunning and quite convenient location five minutes walk (steep hills) from the centre of Kastraki village with a handful of great restaurants. And a cool bar/coffee shop (Qastiro) just a couple of minutes walk away.

Location worked well for me despite not renting a car, with good group tour pick-up options and bus/taxi options with a little planning...

Taxi around 12ā‚¬ to Kalabaka train station and ranging from 10ā‚¬ to 16ā‚¬ to head out to the monasteries depending which one you start at. Bus connecting the monasteries with Kastraki and Kalabaka runs from centre of Kastraki (5 mins walk) a few times a day 1.80ā‚¬ but the times aren't always convenient.

This hotel is located in Kastraki, not far from the monasteries. The car ride was unexpected: prepare for (really) steep and narrow streets when driving to this hotel. You can park your car on a small private parking in front of the hotel.

The room was spacious, with a large bed, some cabinets, a bathroom with shower, and a large terrace with views on the nearby mountains. The bed was by far the best bed we have ever slept in when staying abroad. The room was clean and well maintained. The neighborhood is quiet (not much to do in Kastraki), but there are some nice restaurants within walking distance.

The owner was friendly and always up for a chat.

The breakfast was great. We had to indicate the evening before what we would like for breakfast, and the next day everything was prepared when we showed up.

When we booked this room we didnā€™t know what it would be like. It was located in a narrow street high up with the backdrop of the giant rocks. We were offered the choice of two rooms. One was below stairs, traditional, which opened out into the garden behind. The second one was in a separate building. One could not have asked for anything better, it was a full studio apartment with king size bed,
modern bathroom with toiletries, and beautifully furnished with settee etc. The view outside to the rocks was stupendous. The reception area had a lovely sitting room with handcrafted furniture and rugs. A full Breakfast was so cheap it must have been at cost and the coffee was as good as youā€™d get anywhere.
The owner was warm and welcoming and took great pride in his hotel and the entire area and wanted us to have the best experience. He recommended two restaurants a few minutes down the hill which cooked local fare and the one we chose was simple and superb. Very close to the monasteries in Meteora, this facility offers great value and is highly recommended.

If you are here to see the amazing landscape and the incredible monastaery buildings, this hotel puts you right at the heart of this magical terrain! It feels like a luxury, private treehouse in the forest, with the amazing rock formations towering overhead, and hardly a sign of any other human habitation. You could be in India, Sri Lanka, Burma, or Thailand! Storks sore overhead, while wild tortoises wander below. Our room with balcony on the second floor was tastefully furnished with rustic dark wood, a huge comfy bed, and screen door, with no need for the air conditioning provided as the temperature was perfect, and insects could not get in! Breakfast on the terrace with this amazing view was gorgeous, our hosts could not have been more informative and helpful, and the village of Kastraki with its peaceful atmosphere and handful of decent tavernas, made a much more palatable option than noisy, busy Kalambaka. A magical place of tranquility and beauty. See the monasteries.....then come back to your room and just drink in the majesty of these amazing ancient rock formations from the privacy of your balcony.

We stayed two nights at the hotel in Room 204 (first floor, no lift). The hotel is a bit tricky to find, but just look out for the signs to it. Thereā€™s limited parking at the front, but more round to the side. Excellent base for touring round the Meteora monasteries.

It is a family-run hotel, the staff are brilliant, and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was at the back of the hotel and had a stupendous view of the Meteora rocks. Very comfortable bed, delightful room and nice balcony.

There was a great breakfast choice (5 Euros per person per night), which you order the night before.

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

We took a day trip from Chalkidiki to Meteora, and decided to stay the night.
The host was very friendly and welcoming. Because of the season and covid, there was only one other pair of guests at the hotel, so it was nice and quiet.
The room was great! beds were super comfy, and the view from the balcony was just breathtaking.

We left very early the next day, but that was no problem, and we were served a nice and simple breakfast with bread fresh from the bakery.

Wish to have stayed longer!!

Tip for parking : I parked a bit down the hill. It was rather steep, but next to the hotel there is a large parking spot where you can turn as well.

This hotel is in the perfect location. We stayed for two nights and we had a great experience. It is close to the iconic mountains, allowing for a fantastic view of them; also, there is a small forest behind the hotel, making the views even more beautiful. The staff is very friendly and it will help you with any needs and questions you might have. Our room was in the front of the hotel with a view of the village and a bit of the Mountains. I will suggest asking for a room in the back with a view of the iconic mountains if you decide to stay here (which I strongly recommend). We had breakfast on the back terrace and overstay, admiring the spectacular view and enjoying bird singing. This hotel is a great choice for staying in the Meteora area.

My wife and I had a lovely time here. The location is unbeatable (especially the view from our balcony). We added an excellent fresh breakfast for little bit more, and everything was made to order. But above all, we were pleased the with incredible friendliness of the couple that runs the establishment. We ended up eating and drinking at several of the restaurants and craft beer bars (Pub 38) given, and we were generally astonished with how kind and accommodating both of them were. This spot made our trip.

My experience at this family run hotel was exceptional and one of the highlights of my journey to Meteora, Greece. I wish to commend Thanasis Koutis, the innkeeper and his wife Kitsa Maglara, for a wonderful stay. The terrace of this hotel has an incredible view of the magnificent stone formations of Meteora, and my room had a view of the village of Kastraki.
Although I was travelling with two friends, they stayed at a different hotel. Mr. Koutis could not have been kinder to me. He always made certain that I had no difficulty unlocking my door, and was very attentive to anything I needed.
My room was absolutely immaculate. I particularly enjoyed having a plentiful Greek breakfast on the terrace of the hotel and the light on the incredible stone formations as I had my morning coffee. If you wish to have a truly lovely and authentic Greek experience, this is the place to stay.
Thank you, Thansis Koutis and Kitsa Maglara.

There should be no problem with parking space. The road up to the hotel is narrow and though there are signs directing you to the hotel, it might be a bit difficult seeing them at night. Drive up the hill and at the church turn RIGHT and you should have no problems finding it.

You will have to use a taxi when taking the train. Just email the place that you will be staying at and they will arrange a taxi to pick you up at a fixed rate.
