Second time I've stayed at the Red Lion. All the staff are friendly and the beer is well kept and a good selection ( RevJames recommended), the evening food is typical pub stuff, cheap and adequate, simple to prepare and serve. The Bengal Brasserie just 25 m up the road gives a bit of variety with the Bangladeshi touch. The...

Can only comment on bar area as we called in for food and drink on way back to Manchester from Aberystwyth on a Thursday afternoon with children and dog. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Great pint of real ale and good food(including home made chips). Good choice on menu and our food was faultless. The small omelette for our 4...

A group of family and friends went on a warm summer day and were warmly received by the bar staff and made use of the small but tidy beer garden. The drinks were all reasonably priced and the locals were friendly enough, even when the kids took over the pool table! The real treat tho is the lounge area, it's...

Stopped of for a pint in this hotel. £5 for a pint and a glass of lime and lemonade..ouch..not worth it. One place i wouldnt not be going back to. The whole bar area looked dark and in need of a referb. The bar it self to me needed a deep clean.

We arrived a bit wet and bedraggled after cycling about 40 miles from Trawsfynydd on day 2 of our Ride Wales Challenge. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our lunch order was dealt with promptly and arrived equally quickly. Great choice of beers. One of us was able to play the recently installed piano in the bar....

The red lion is a very nice traditional pub, with a varied menu catering for all tastes all well priced. The staff were very curious and friendly and for a party of 10 all our food came out together, all very hot. But the meals had mixed reviews by all, but the portions were good size however some lacked flavour...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a small, family run bed and breakfast. Our price includes breakfast (and a large choice at that). All of our rooms are en-suite and two have a kitchenette. We are in the process of refurbishing the hotel and are hoping for the front facade to be restored in the next few months. Please may I point out that the establishment is on a busy main street and because of the lively pub we have on the ground floor, it can get noisy on the weekends and bank holidays. We have a games room bar on one side of the ground floor and a lounge bar on the other side. We have a 'pub grub' style main menu with some homemade dishes (all clearly pointed out) and we also have a Specials menu. ... more   less
