We visited for a family event in the village. On a arrival we were taken to a lovely room at the back which turned out to be very quiet and roomy. We were introduced to the strange entrance arrangements and then the staff went out locking up the hotel. I thought the definition of a hotel was that it was...

I stayed here last night and it was very pleasant. I had the single room which was generously sized, clean, nicely decorated and I was pleased with the tea making facilities. The 'single' bed was in fact a four foot bed which was very comfortable. Good shower in the ensuite too. I arrived Sunday teatime but the whole place was...

Stayed overnight again this year whilst visiting the area for the Wales Rally. Got a very friendly welcome, enjoyed a good dinner and had a great night's sleep in a clean and comfortable room. Excellent value for money and recommended.

Lovely hotel with big rooms and bathrooms all nicely decorated and with decent furniture. Had a good nights sleep. Lots of our friends were also staying here and we had to leave early Sun morning, therefore lots of us asked for an extra early breakfast. It's a shame this wasn't possible. It would have lovely to have some hot food...

Dear Samantha Thank you for your review. We provide breakfast between 7:30am and 8:45am. We did that morning start breakfast at 7:15am. Unfortunately, you requested breakfast earlier, therefore we provided you both with packed lunches. As the event was delayed, you were still here at 8:00am, where you did have cereal, toast and coffee! Should you have asked for cooked...

Friendly welcome from the owners and attentive service throughout. Clean and well-appointed room and very satisfying cooked breakfast (possibly the largest sausage I've ever eaten!). Sleep quality average however as the bed was a tad small and the mattress uncomfortable, the latter easy to rectify I'd assume. Also yapping dogs outside (not those of the owners). Overall however a good...

Popped into the Unicorn in Llanidloes for our evening meal. The service was pleasant and friendly. The food arrived quickly and was delicious and hot. We had the lamb shank and chicken and it was all very tasty and served beautifully. Highly recommended. *****

We have stayed here several times and always received the same warm welcome and good service. The menu is limited for evening meals but is of a good standard and always tasty. This hotel is worth a visit if you are in this part of Wales

The Unicorn is easy to find with free public car park very close. Made to feel very welcome at check in. Our room was good, spacious and very quiet, but what really excels is the full Welsh breakfast, a great start to the day. Would recommend to anyone looking g for good value accommodation in the area

Friendly and accommodating, very clean, spacious well appointed rooms, abundant hot drinks and excellent breakfast. unfortunately we arrived too late to sample the evening menu (20.15) but enjoyed a meal at a local Indian restaurant.

Booked this at a week's notice and had the last available room (family room, 2) so loads of space in room overlooking the street. The hotel has a family home feel about it's whole operation, so the staff are friendly and everywhere seems spotless. The menu is fairly conservative, but the food is cooked to perfection and provides excellent value.
