Stayed here while doing the Hillary Skyrace in 2016. We showed up late at night without a booking and they easily accommodated us. We only needed a tent spot and there were tons of good spaces. Location was great for the beach and for the start of the race. The facilities, bathroom and kitchen were decent and clean. Good option...

We just love it here. It's great to go on holiday and enjoy the amazing beach and affordable camping as well as having our k9 family members with us. Steve, the manager, knows us now and we almost always get our regular spot. The facilities are a bit tired but we are camping after all. It's great how we are...

Slightly daunted by the reviews of grumpy owners and failing to contact them over a 5 day period we rocked up with low expectations. Owners turned out to be lovely and very accommodating, just that the phone lines were down and had been for a week! Snagged a top spot in a hollow by the entrance gate and kids had...

The manager, Dick, told us that this is the last week before they come in and flatten the buildings (which are old and with great needs). They are going to build an all new amenities block and this will make this place a five star place for December 2016. We are here for two nights since the location is perfect.

We have loved our summer holiday at Muriwai, best thing about it is I get a holiday! The Manager has turned it into such a wonderful family orientated camp the kids gravitate towards one another and entertain themselves, they and a few extras come back when they're hungry. Good old fashioned NZ campground, it reminds me of my youth. We...

We booked and paid for two nights but left after one. The place is run down and in need of a lot of love. I realise at $30 per couple for an un-powered site you shouldn't expect too much but we've stayed at similar camp ground set ups in NZ and they've been clean & tidy- which is all you...

Came for a weekend (Friday PM - Sunday AM) when weather, waves, and an empty calendar coincided. From other reviews I was wary of the "gruff" owner/manager, and sure enough, when we arrived he was giving some would-be campers a stern word - something about a group of teenagers needing a parent, not an uncle, to stay with them. He...

Stayed here for a couple of nights and really enjoyed it, tons of room to camp great facilities and the beach right there. The walks from the site are brilliant, and don't miss the seagulls up on the hill. Recommended.

We picked this site as it relatively close to the airport for our first night arrival. It was quiet but the facilities were good. It is right next to the beach and the cliff top gannet colony. Free Wifi was a big hit esp with the children

We really enjoyed camping at Muriwai Beach Motor Camp. A great location right next to the beach. Good clean facilities and lots of space to relax. Great hard working camp owners who care about their guests helped to make our stay a happy one. We were in a tent site and the owners were most accommodating directing us to a...
