Opoa Beach Hotel was one of our favorite places to stay on our honeymoon!! The staff including Eric and Mihi were so courteous and kind! Our waitress was superb as well! Speaking of food... the dinners were incredible. I enjoyed the best fish and meals out of all the other restaurants during our 3 island tour. The ambience of Opoa...

Perfect quiet location near Taputapuatua Marae. Hotel comprises a collection of cute standalone beach bachs. Comfortable and tastefully decorated with hammocks and deck chairs. Well managed with friendly staff. Staying here was a real treat and one of my favourite parts of my holiday in Polynesia. They also run an amazing restaurant at the hotel. Delicious food using fresh local...

Very clean bungalows. I recommend a beach front with hammock bungalow if it is available. Beautiful sunrises from our front porch each morning! On our visit, we had plenty of breeze to negate the lack of air conditioner. The pool is clean and inviting or you can swim off the pier and view some amazing coral. Please sea kayak over...

After a very long and hot trip from Washington, DC to LAX, then Tahiti and finally Raiatea we drove about 1 hour in the fading daylight through a beautiful jungle of trees with glimpses of beach. After calling to make sure we weren't lost we found our turn to the Opoa Beach Hotel. Down the long drive through newly planted...

There are many reasons to visit Raiatea, the Sacred Island, and this hotel is the best on the island. Eric, one of the owners, met us at the airport and presented us with the best leis we received on our travels around French Polynesia. The hotel is a 40 minute drive from the airport and Eric pointed out the local...

The Opoa Beach Hotel on Raitea punches way above its weight. Nestled in a very remote part of the island it is beautifully appointed with white bungalows and what seems to be an authentic interpretation of the French Polynesian way and with respect of its environment. What we loved most was the personal and attentive service by Eric, Mihi and...

We stayed at the Opoa Beach Hotel for 5 nights mid-February, the hot season in French Polynesia. It is also the low season in French Polynesia, which means we had the hotel to ourselves for a few days during our stay. Opoa Beach is located about 30 to 45 minutes from Uturoa, depending on which way you go. The owners,...

I came from Malaysia. Those who understand Malay definitely know what is a Rumah Papan, direct translation is "wooden house". To be honest I didn't choose to fly here all the way in business class just to be here. Ops! The bungalow is clean & in white. That's nice but no air conditional! It seems like I'm back to nature....

First of all, splurge and go for the ocean front room. That's what we did and it turned out to be a perfect place to spend a few days relaxing and snorkeling before our week on the water began. The rooms are very large with a sitting area and a private covered patio with two reclining chairs and a hammock....
