Nice location with lovely mountain/valley views. A good option if you want a quieter location than Ella. We stayed four nights, day 1 we caught the train to Idalgashinna and walked back, day 2 we went to Ella in a tuk tuk (2,000 LKR for drop off) we hiked Ella Rock, had some food in town and then walked to nine arch bridge from there we got a tuk tuk back (3,000 LKR). Day 3 we went to Horton Plains by van (5,000 LKR return fare). Day 4 we departed for the coast to Mirissa (15,000 LKR). The bedrooms are as per the pictures although there are some signs of dampness in rooms but this is expected due to location. The brothers are helpful and the breakfast and dinner are filling and good quality. I would recommend this accommodation.

We travelled to Haputale for work and booked four out of the six rooms at Nilowin Holiday Resort. We were delighted with the accommodation and generous home cooked meals. The rooms were spacious, bright and spotlessly clean with views of the misty hills. There is piping hot water - most welcome after a long day. The service was ever helpful and the string hoppers, hoppers and curries were delicious, perfectly spiced. The unassuming hotel is located down the road from the historic Adisham Bungalow and a nature sanctuary, which makes for a pleasant walk. We highly recommend this hotel!

Saman and his family are really looking for your happiness and well-being during your stay. The view from our room was amazing, easy walking around tea fields, close to the hotel and the room was really clean. All the team was really helpful for supporting us, driving us around, explaining cultural aspect of their life, etc.. We booked our transfers with them in advance, and it was a pleasure to have safe drives with Mohamed who taught us Sinhalese useful words. Last but not least, the food was AMAZING!! Saman's mother is really an excellent Chef! The rice and curry was the best we ate and each day we had the chance to taste different vegetables from their own garden. For sure, if we have to come back in Sri Lanka we will be back in Nilowin! Our best stay during all our trip.

Saman and his brother Shan were the perfect hosts, speaking very good English and looking after us really well. They had a terrific sense of fun and are lovely people. Their mother is a fantastic cook, the breakfasts and dinners were fresh, delicious and plentiful. The large rooms are spotlessly clean, the bed super comfortable and the bathroom very modern with plenty of hot water. Great views from the roof top, and nice dining balcony. They ran us to all the sights at a very fair cost. Exceptional service and value for money. Highly recommended.
