The hotel went out of business 10 years ago and was abandoned. 5 years or so ago, it was made a residence ( think condo) and the former rooms are now owned and lived in by locals or rented to locals. The rooms are also rented on AirBnB, VRBO and other sites. There are no hotel facilities other than a...

Had to pu keys in Grand Case. It was pouring buckets of rain. The hostess gave us a map and keys but no directions. What a nightmare in the pouring rain. No one at reception hall at Mt Vernon. It stunk like cat urine. We walked the complex till we figured it out. Hostess told us parking was difficult but...

My husband and I rented an ocean front studio apartment directly from an owner at Mont Vernon in Orient Bay on the French side of the island. We had an incredible stay. Mont Vernon used to be a hotel, and does have some wear. The outside of the buildings are peeling from old paint and the grounds have seen better...

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Mount Vernon. Nick and Gloria were great to rent from and very helpful if needed. It was a very clean, nice set up and I can say anything more than the location is FANTASTIC and convenient. You are at the quiet end of Orient Beach and its a short distance down the hill...

Our travel date (Arrival) was July 1992. We enjoyed the accommodations. The restaurant/ hotel currency at the time was francs, very expensive. The hotel then only offered Buffet Breakfast so we would fill ourselves up in the mornings, spend the days out/ rented a car/ go to beach/ shop in Philipsburg, eat a late lunch at other local restaurants. Around...

We love it. We also rent from brothers Amaury & Theobaut. We have worked our way up to beach front, but have stayed in at least 4 of their units. All are clean, some just have a little better view! Great people to rent from (even though they won't sell us one of their units) ha, ha! You go on...

We stayed here for three weeks and it was alright. The place was beautiful, originally, but it hasn't been upkept that well. We love cats, but there are so many cats here that the hallways smell like piss. When they clean the beach it's beautiful but maintanance doesn't happen that often. The bottom floors have a lot of bugs so...

We just returned from our third stay at Mont Vernon. We have rented each time from Amaury and Thibault. I agree that the road to Mont Vernon is in terrible shape and the parking is less than ideal, but once in the room we had a wonderful time. My only complaint was that the Wi-Fi worked sporadically for the week...

Correspondence with Amaury was quick and easy. Our flight was late and we met him at their restaurant in Grand Case to obtain the keys. Long story, short, we slept in the studio for one night. We didn't care to lose our money for the week stay at Mont Vernon. It wasn't the sketchy road to get to the place...

“The Antigua building is an end complex, front row with ocean views. Air con is limited by each studio owner, some units have none. Each unit is different, choose carefully for WiFi, laundry, safe on site.”

“$40 one way taxi fare to Phillipsburg; $20 to Marigot; $10 to the Pinel Island Ferry; plan accordingly if you want to see anything other than Orient Beach; Rent a car for a day or two; very friendly locals will deliver to the hotel and pick up ... HIGHLY recommend Pinel. Very calm waters with two restaurants on the Isle; we brought food/drink in a backpack; It's a $7 RT ferry boat ride or rent a kayak to get there if adventurous”

“YodaGuy Apartments are good--and Nick and Gloria are very helpful. Also, check to see if there are beachview units available during your stay. They will cost about $100-$200 more per week, but if overlooking the beach in the morning and evening are important to you, just do it. It's well worth it. No matter where you stay in Mt. Vernon, just open your balcony or patio door at night and sleep to the crashing waves of the beach below.”
