We arrived for a few days in late September. The location wasn't very prepossessing, fronting a busy minor road, but traffic had all but evaporated by late evening. The room was spacious and well-appointed, though the loo, separate from the bathroom, couldn't be accessed without disturbing one's partner, the door being only a few feet from the headboard. The restaurant...

Caunes-Minervois advertises itself as "A Town with Character" and this is a hotel to match. There are only 5 rooms so you will be well cared for, and the staff are friendly and efficient in a casual, "country" sort of way. It was for us an excellent base for Carcassonne and the hinterland, and after travelling through many other places...

Had lunch here as part of a party of 30. Excellent service and nice meal. In a beautiful village. Interesting display of the history of marble quarrying and the different types of marble found in the area.

Quirky is the right word for this hotel. Room we had was good size but bathroom/toilet a bit of an odd arrangement. Walls are very thin & we could hear chap in next room snoring. Staff are lovely and friendly, worthwhile to do demi-pension to include breakfast and dinner - plat du jour always good. The cassoulet is enormous! Shame...

We enjoyed our stay and the beds are comfy and rooms stylishly old fashioned. Breakfast was good with local apricots, yogurts bread and muffins. Lovely coffee to start the day. The hotel is an old marble factory and there are postcards and marble nick nacks for sale. Also some interesting gifts and food available to buy. Two things though -...

This isn't everyone's cup of tea but I loved it. If most hotels leave you cold and you don't mind a flight of stairs, this is a real gem. It's so delightfully quirky and very comfortable and quiet. I wanted somewhere to hole up in the pouring rain for the weekend and felt very at home. Really good value too....

Walking into this hotel decorated throughout in local marble is like the set of " allo allo"! A really charming old fashioned hotel with welcoming staff. An old traditional establishment with comfortable beds , wifi throughout and good value as well. An outside terrace looked ideal although a bit windy during our visit. On site restaurant satisfactory with local produce-...

A curious find, this, but an interesting one. Wherever possible, everything in this hotel is made of local marble (there are tours of the local quarry-ask Madame-they take around 2 hours) wine racks, statuary, pestles& mortars-even down to the scent bottles on the washstands. The rooms are well decorated in a rather austere (but nonetheless very French) style, and I...
