What can I say about this little B & B in Caunes Minervois? It is perfection! Sarah's welcome and her attention to detail is second to none. The room I had was the one shown in the picture and the beautiful french furniture and quirky french style are shown off to perfection by fresh crisp white sheets and bedding. The...

This is a great place to stay if you are visiting the area. The Cathare sights of Minerve, Lastours & Carcassonne are all nearby and there are also many wineries near here, too. The room we had was comfortable & clean with a good double bed. The breakfast was very good, too. But the best thing about this place is...

This B and B is a gem. Carefully run and so many great little details. The lady owner, Sara, knows how to make guests welcome and feel instantly at home. On our arrival, we were offered Wine and nibbles on a small roof terrace, which set us up for going off to explore the interesting village of Caunes-Minervois. Our bedroom...

My husband and I recently spent 9 days in France. We could recommend any of the three chambres d'hote that we stayed in, but the real standout was Sara's lovely small hotel tucked into a small alley in Caunes-Minervois. Sara has thought of everything: soft towels, robes, slippers, and a hair dryer - a real treat for me after being...

My wife, child and myself were given a lovely family room were everything was beautifully restored and smooth running, whilst still retaining its delightful character of by-gone times. We were received very warmly and made to feel at home. The breakfasts were attractivly presented with flowers and crisp linen and help and advice concerning our days in this historic and...

Former British Airways hostess Sara sure knows a thing or two about service. We were in Caunes for a family wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay. Our comfortable bedroom opened on to a delightful terrace with flowering plants and views of the medieval town. Breakfast was a first-class affair with starched linen tablecloth, coffee and warm croissants and a...

We thouroughly enjoyed staying at the beautiful BnB. Sara welcomed us with her presence in the narrow lanes to navigate our arrival. This was follwed by a welcoming drink on the terrace and we felt immediately at home. Over the following 5 nights we were treated like long lost friends. She gave us advice and directions on restaurants (and called them)nearby villages...

A wonderful place to relax and be looked after. Sarah has everything well organised to ensure a great stay. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and set to a very high standard of cleanliness. The white bed linen is immaculate and the towels soft and feel as new. Likewise the breakfast is of an excellent standard with the best butter croissants...

We travelled through France by motorcycle in June and found this small but beautiful B&B while looking for a one night stay en route to Italy. The English owners, Sara & Mark, couldn't have been more welcoming. We arrived about 7pm and were shown to our wonderful room on the front which had everything we needed, including extra details such...

I am echoing the other reviewers who sing the praises of Sara and Mark, the owners of L'Ancienne Boulangerie in Caunes Minervois. The B&B itself is charming and comfortable and Sara has provided amenities seen in the best hotels...comfortable robes, thick towels, great mattress and sheets - and very unusual for Europe - a top sheet AND a duvet! The...
