I left with great memories and a feeling of fullness - the antikristo lamb, a Cretan speciality, from the taverna at the front is amazing. The hotel is very modern; the food in Lasithi, the hotel restaurant, is excellent (I stayed half-board); and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I was reserved a delicious meal on arrival, despite checking-in after the opening hours of Lasithi, which was really thoughtful. I had a good mix of exploring and restfulness on Crete. I was also given nice recommendations for things to do, places to see, and other spots to try additional top Cretan cuisine. Thank you for making my stay on the island so memorable. Efharisto
Such a wonderful holiday we had, we have been travelling to amoudarra for 14 years and thought we would treat our self as we always eat in the main restaurant and we weren’t disappointed clean friendly, manager is a lovely friendly guy and so pleased to say we are booked to return
Beautiful, modern, clean and well designed building. The stone walls, and modern interior give a feel of Crete with a modern twist. The staff are absolutely fantastic. Welcoming, with a friendly manner. Any issues they are approachable at any time of the day or night. Anastasia, is a beautiful, friendly member of staff. She’s always smiling & going above and beyond to ensure guests are happy. My partner and I got bitten fairly badly on our first day, as we like to sleep with the door open. Anastasia was made aware of this when she saw the bites on my partners arms, and she bought us material to light on the balcony so we could continue to enjoy our time with the balcony open, without the hungry mosquitoes joining us in bed. :) As we visited during the off peak. We found the area very quiet, and the beach a little dirty. The sea wasn’t calm, and found most days the beach wasn’t a place to visit for long but with a fantastic pool area with open bar for food and drinks we made the most of our chilled holiday and the hotel facilities. There’s a bus opposite the hotel, which will take you towards the city of Heraklion, where the harbour is beautiful to visit and watch the sunset by the castle. Plenty of places to eat, or stop by for a drink. On days we felt like staying nearby we visited the restaurant Infront of our hotel, which is by far one of the best. Huge facilities, friendly staff, and food is outstanding. We’d definitely recommend this place to family and friends. We have a little girl, who we plan to bring here during the peak season as there’s plenty of things to do for children. Looking forward to coming back again. Thanks for having us. :)…
This is my second visit to the hotel this years with a group of friends. The rooms and hotel are perfectly clean , modern and comfortable. Great value for money and the staff are absolutely fantastic. The hotel has a great restaurant as part of the facilities (oh and the raki is excellent)
Highly recommended hotel! The rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. The staff is always friendly and helpful. On the first day we arrived several hours before the official check-in time, but despite this, the room was available in no time. The beach is a stone's throw away, and there are good connections to Heraklion town. But the real highlight is the cuisine: we stayed with half pension, and both at breakfast and dinner there is a wide selection of dishes, well prepared and in excellent taste. Hard to leave the dining room sometimes ^^ Also great is the possibility to have breakfast earlier than the standard time, or to receive a meal-box to take away: very convenient when going on excursions! All in all, a great stay at the Petousis!
My partner and myself have just returned in the early hours from a week at this hotel. We both work hard and have hectic lives, so we really look forward to our holidays, Petousis hotel has been fantastic. We had not been to Crete before, but we shall absolutely be returning. The hotel staff are so accommodating, we really appreciated their warm welcome and attention to our needs for our whole stay. The pool area was super clean and tidy and we had no problem getting sun loungers. Our room was great, the food was lovely. We literally have no complaints. We hired a car one day and explored the island a little which was beautiful, then a few other days we caught the bus from just outside the hotel and went into Heraklion. We would recommend doing this as we thoroughly enjoyed it for wandering the cobbled streets and enjoying the food. We also spent a day at the water park called Water City, highly recommended for families and couples like us. Especially out of season, we went on Monday and is was so quiet, we didn’t have to queue for any slide. We would love to return to this hotel in the future. Thank you again, Lucy and Kristian …
I stayed in Ammoudara with a Global Volunteers group for one week at the end of September. The group ate many meals at this restaurant. Both the food and the service were outstanding. We ate family style, dining on a variety of salads, pizza, meatballs, spaghetti, feta cheese drizzled in olive oil with herbs, etc. At the end of the meal, we always had platters of Greek donuts served with ice cream.
What a beautiful hotel this is... so clean, staff are very friendly, absolutely couldn't fault. The resort itself is very quiet, not much going on but we chose it for its proximity to Heraklion. We were here for 5 days so it was great. Our room was stunning, we had the suite with a shared pool which was fab, but the main pool areas were lovely, plenty of sunbeds and no rush to get them. We only did b&b, and there was plenty to choose from every day. All in all perfect for what we wanted.
This complex is located about 7km away from Heraklion's center, near the beach. I was pleasantly surprised by the kindness and professionalism of the staff, either in the hotel or the tavern. Easy going but very efficient. The room was spacious, clean and designy, overlooking the nice swimming pool. There are a lot of families with kids, but contrary to the expectations it is neither crowded or noisy ( except the tavern) and the different swimming areas allow you to swim and relax in peace. No need to review the tavern attached to the hotel. Cretan cuisine is simply delicious. My only regret is that my stay was very short. I will certainly return one day for at least a week.
The hotel is gorgeous. It is very clean, it smells clean ☺️ The room looks very nice, it seems recently renovated. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. It is close to a nice beach, shops and near the bus station (15 minutes to Heraklion City Center). I would definitely come back again.
