I have stayed at Fern Cottage 4 times now and have been very impressed on each occassion. The Owners, Peter and Heather, are most welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The accomodation is superb, with many nice touches, often only found in large, impersonal hotels! I stayed in the Green Room, which benefits from a "wet-room," en-suite shower and... More

My Husband & I stayed for one night at Fern cottage, on arriving the owners Heather & Peter greeted us with a very warm & friendly welcome. We stayed in the green room which was very clean & tidy with a wet room ensuite, what made the room a touch special was the mud bed which I would highly recommend... More

The Missus and I being habitual hotel clients on our (rare) travels it was something of an eye opener staying at Fern Cottage, and we must thank previous reviewers for their advice. The whole experience was first rate, from Heather's warm welcome in the evening to the delights of an outstanding breakfast. Throw in the buzzing local pub, a very... More

I booked two nights at Fern Cottage back in January when working away from home and have been here ever since! The cottage is located in a very pretty, quiet village 10 minutes from Burton and 10 minutes from either the M42 or the A38. There is a great little pub opposite (The Black Horse) and Heather and Peter could... More

We stayed at Fern Cottage for two nights in the Blue Room. We had the most wonderful weekend. What a beautiful cottage in such a quiet location with two such lovely hosts (Heather & Peter). We couldn't have asked for anything more. Heather's breakfast was to die for, there was almost too much to choose from with all such fresh... More

My friend and I stayed at this lovely B&B before having a day at Champneys. We had separate rooms and both found them very clean, cosy and well equipped. Heather and Peter (the hosts) were extremely hospitable and couldn't do enough for us. We were offered tea and cake which is always a winning combination. I stayed in the green... More

Excellent B & B !! Clean, tidy, warm, good hosts, good food and probably the most comfortable bed in the World ? (Green room heated mud bed) Green room is great - fantastic shower and wonderful bed. Highly recommended. Went for a week - stayed 16 months, so hopefully that tells you all you need to know.

We stayed at Fern Cottage for one night and it was fabulous. We loved the pretty, Victorian ambience, with all mod-cons! Our first experience of a water bed - deliciously comfortable - and a wet-room - gleaming and efficient. Our breakfast was super with lots of choices, including jams made at our hosts' place in France. Peter and Heather were... More

My sister, her teenage son, and I recently travelled to the Midlands for a family reuinion. We did not want to stay in one of the 'sausage-factory' motels on the motorway with the risk of grubby rooms and the promise of horrible fast food. Luckily we found haven at Fern Cottage. Although Coton-in-the- Elms is just an easy ten minute... More

“The village is quiet, so hardly any noise as the building is on a side road. Not much traffic goes through. We live in a cul de sac at home, and were not disturbed by any passing traffic.”
