Arriving late down a very peaceful road in canonbie we turned in to be greeted by a really lovely Scottish victorian lodge and getting out of the car the sound of the water in the famous sea trout and salmon river made for some fantastic background music. Our young hosts could not have been more welcoming and we enjoyed early...

On arrival for a two night break Jamie and Lauren made us feel so welcome. The room in the main house was very comfortable with lovely views of the extensive gardens. The guest sitting room was so relaxing to sit in with a log burning stove, television, books and the same lovely views of the garden. Breakfast was cooked to...

We recently had a wonderful family holiday at the Stables, Byreburnfoot. The accommodation was all that we required, very clean and the location peaceful and scenery stunning. The owners were very friendly and helpful. This is our second visit and looking forward to another. Highly recommended.

Lovely house in a beautiful location, very quiet, about a mile outside Canonbie, overlooking the River Esk. Warm and friendly atmosphere and great service - Jimmy and Lauren really welcome you into their home. The rooms are comfortable, handsomely furnished and very clean. We had a very tasty dinner, and although there were only two of us, two choices were...

The location is stunning and the room I stayed in was clean and well appointed. Sadly much of the house had a significant smell of dog, which proved quite off putting. I was also asked not to make noise whilst coming and going something that made me feel less than welcome. I was not asked how I slept once during...

Warm welcome with tea and homemade shortbread upon arrival. Room and private sitting room delightful, just wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. Can't wait to come back for a longer stay. Highly recommended!!

Excellent B&B, thoroughly recommended! The owners were very friendly & the room was very clean. Ideal 'stop over' when travelling South. We would like to return and check out the local area. Thank you.

We stayed for one week in Garden Cottage, with our two year old little girl. We were warmly greeted by both Bill and Loraine and both of them took the time to make us feel at home and introduce us to our cottage. They even got out a Cosy Coupe Car for our daughter to play with. They also have...

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying in the B&B and having previously had a holiday in the self-catering cottages I cannot recommend it highly enough! Bill and Loraine welcomed us with tea and fresh homemade scones on arrival and the level of hospitality throughout our stay was first class. The room was immaculate and very spacious...

We have stayed here on a number of occasions as its local to my parents. The place is immaculate and previously we have always had a warm welcome from Bill and Lorraine. All I can say is this time it appears we were ripped off on an agreed price when going up to celebrate my fathers birthday weekend!! We arranged...

We are committed to treating all our guests with courtesy and respect, and our published tariffs are clearly accessible via our Website. We would also confirm that our self catering cottages are let by the week, but are available for short breaks, a minimum of three nights, between November-March. We regret that these guests were unhappy about our costs, in...

“We loved our guest room that spanned the width of the home. Our sunny bedroom overlooked the front garden and drive, while our bathroom overlooked the lovely back garden. We could hear the water rippling over the rocks in the River Esk of an evening. Our room was heavenly.”
