Following our reopening in September 2020, somethings are different at Needham House, but many aspects remain the same; including our focus on great customer service and doing our best for our guests. There is a new operating company focused on providing a 4* hotel with excellent conference and AV facilities; delicious food, superior overnight accommodation and creating memorable weddings and social events. We are working to and monitoring the Government guidance with regards to COVID-19. We are committed to ensuring we do all that we can to make sure we are and continue to be COVID Secure. We look forward to welcoming you to Needham House and want to share our processes, so you know what to expect when you arrive. Due to the changing nature of the situation we are constantly monitoring the law and new advice, so these measures will be updated, as necessary. The Government has made it law to wear a face covering in any public place, this includes hotels. Please wear a face covering in all public areas of the hotel, these can be removed in the bar and Brasserie while eating and drinking. Our staff will all be wearing face coverings in public areas. In the unfortunate situation that anyone displays COVID-19 symptoms, we have a documented process to follow to ensure the safety of other guests and our staff. If you do have symptoms of COVID-19 we ask that you do not visit the hotel but follow the Public Health England guidelines.

We booked the Charlton suite for a retirement do and it was perfect. There was great support from the manager & staff whilst setting up and throughout the evening. The room was nicely presented with tables and separate bar area. We could play our own music through the built in speakers. The food was excellent & plenty (buffet choice). All went for second helpings! If it had been summer, we could have had the patio doors open to a garden. Really nice venue - many thanks!

Such a beautiful hotel and location. We turned up on the Friday check in was super easy. They put rose petals on the bed. And brought chocolates up to the room. Due to us being away for our anniversary and a wedding. Such a clean room the view was beautiful. Cannot recommend Enough. Thank you Needham house for an amazing stay.

Room was clean and tidy. Bed quite squeaky! Would have been nice to have had a list of times for breakfast but once we found out it was ok. Catered for a coeliac which made the stay even more pleasurable. Staff more than helpful.

The hotel is okay - the rooms are nice enough but do feel abit old. Lighting is dim in the rooms, there were a few things that you’d expect from a standard hotel that weren’t there; eg water in rooms, shower gel etc. there’s no lift either which does make life a bit difficult if carrying heavy things to your room. Overall I’d rate it average. A 5/10. Does the job.

This hotel looks great from the outside, and indeed the roomy lounge area. The bed is very comfortable. That’s the positives. We stayed as part of a large Wedding party. Two sets of my relatives had booked online and paid for bed and breakfast . They were then asked for full payment again at Reception. That was sorted out, next morning, they went for breakfast and we’re told they couldn’t have any “ as they hadn’t paid”. Not good enough! We had “ executive room”. We had to clean the bedroom and the en suite floor with toilet paper as they were filthy, as was the shower. The sink was tiny and nowhere to put toiletries .Breakfast was adequate, no more. Wouldn’t stay again I’m afraid. Kept awake until 4 am with guests shouting in the garden ( not part of our party) but guess hotel can’t be blamed for this!

My partner and I visited this hotel for a night away and although there were good aspects, we weren’t entirely happy with our stay. Starting with the positives- the bed was spacious and very comfortable, the blackout curtains were great and the restaurant staff were exceptional. However, there were small things that overcasted the positives, such as the reception staff who weren’t particularly friendly. They were very professional but we did not receive the ‘warm welcome’ that we usually get at other hotels- no smiles and no proper greeting or explanation of any facilities etc. They just took our payment and handed the key over. Our bath mat had yellow stains on, the metal tissue box on the side table had no tissues in and the TV would turn off every 20 minutes. I know these sound like very tedious comments, but it’s just not what we would expect. On top of this, as far as I’m aware, there was no lift. Being 8 months pregnant, climbing the stairs in over 30 degree weather wasn’t ideal. In fact, we left quite early the next morning and skipped the breakfast we’d paid for as we just didn’t feel very comfortable.

Went for afternoon tea and wasnt a great experience especially for thr price tag, and definitely not worth the price. The hotel has a big restaurant and nice lobby area, but tea was served in a dark room which was completely shut in with near black doors. It was really muggy. It felt like this room was on the basement or something. But it appears it was next to the restaurant. We were the only ones having tea & think only ones in whole place, as when we went to restaurant bit to pay it was empty. We had booked as an elderly tea party, but main enterence doesn't have ramp, so we went in back way, but the walk to room was so far and 1 lady struggled getting there. There were closer rooms they could of put is in, as we walked through many. On taste the scones were really dry they crumbled when cut them. There were 2 small pots of jam for 4 scones so no way enough. Getting more milk seemed to take ages, which seemed odd when found out kitchen was so close. I've been here before in past for meals, spa and a conference and it's always been amazing. Especially quality of the food. This time it was a complete let down, nothing like what I'd expected. It was especially sad that we are a charity and there was not much value for the money. Thing that shocked me the most though was ,we asked if we could box left overs up to take home and they put everything all in one plastic container. Also was so squashed in, when you opened the lid cakes were stuck to it and each other. Also there was cress left on the Sandwich plate and they tipped this into the box of cakes! Never seen anything like it in my life.
