Took my mum here for a Saturday spa trip deal including dinner, bed and breakfast. The castle is beautiful, lovely grounds and really nice walk down towards the river. Great falconry with massive range of birds of prey which we loved. Food in the orangery also very good. However....I can't help but be really disappointed that the Spa was out...

Very disappointed ... didn't even get to stay here. Booked for a weekend to celebrate my wife's special birthday. Grandparents arranged for children. Received an email 5 days before check in giving me details of spa and facilities. Requested sample menus and they were supplied. Emailed to book meal times and ask about booking spa ... no response. Resent email...

Went for a couple of days. Lovely castle with many period features. Booking not great - didn't return our phone calls & website not great for booking. However we did get there. Reception good, room large & comfortable. Lounges good. Library bar has open fire, great on a winter night. Orangery pleasant for lunch/dinner with good service. Food in this...

I am sorry but this is a beautiful place with terrible food . The surroundings are exceptional but the food is over cooked and dreadfully presented . Eat in the Orangery as opposed to the dungeon as the quality of food is different . I don't like writing negative reviews but this place need a new chef .

We visited today for the afternoon tea. . Firstly trying to book over the phone was problematic as there's never any one to answer the phone then I emailed 3x before I received a reply. . I confirmed the booking for today by email then when we arrived in the orangery restaurant they had no record of my booking however...

Wonderful castle - truly magical. The room (12) had the most AMAZING ginormous bed too. Can highly recommend the dungeon restaurant - but book a table well before you go: we had to pretty much beg our way in after being told a couple of times in the evening that there was 'definitely' no room. We went down there anyways...

We had arrived at Dalhousie Castle following an excellent stay at Fonab Castle in Pitlochry and we were so disapointed in how we were treated at the reception. The greeting was not even cold but we were met with distinct disaproval even dispondency as I had changed the date of our booking through booking.com and there had been a miscommunication...

We would definitely recommend staying at Dalhousie Castle and we will stay there again. The hotel itself is full of character, charm and atmosphere - from the Dungeon restaurant to the cosy library with book cases full of old books and a roaring fire. We stayed in room 22 (William Wallace) which has been reviewed below - we decided it's...
