We stayed two nights, on a cheaper winter rate. The hotel is less than a mile from the town centre, and it's an easy flattish walk across fields (get directions at reception). Staff are very helpful and friendly, the decor is unusual but in keeping with an old grand hall, and we saw no signs of wear or lack of...

We usually stay once a year at this charming hotel with my in laws who are in their mid eighties. They introduced us to the hotel a few years ago and we stay in October to celebrate their wedding anniversary. This year they will have been married 64 years! We stayed twice last year, once in the summer and again...

Just one overnight stay (b&b) left us wishing we had booked more than one night! Our room was beautiful, spacious and well appointed with a very comfortable bed, good quality bedding and luxurious towels. Nice hot chocolate touch from the turn down service. This hotel exudes quality. From the beautiful terrace and lawns with amazing views to a fabulous lounge...

Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Staff are warm and friendly and the food was excellent. A visit to the spa is a must whilst staying in this hotel. Will definitely return in the future, hopefully for a longer stay!

We stayed for 2 nights in early January and have just booked again to return in March. This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was excellent, loads of space with a lovely bathroom. The little treats such as the sherry, hot chocolate and coffee machine were...

We booked in for afternoon tea and had asked about gluten free stuff. When we arrived, the chef made me fresh g-f scones and prepared a lovely tray of treats. I also asked for fresh ginger tea rather than any on the menu and again that was sorted. A bonus was a top tip for lighting fires! We've stayed overnight...

Stayed for a night with two children. Extremely helpful staff put us in two double rooms that had an adjoining door so we all had our own space. We had lunch in the restaurant, which was lovely. Great burgers and proper homemade chips. They were happy to split a main meal between the children which a lot of places won't...
