We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The New Year's Eve 7 course dinner was excellent and the entertainment was really appreciated. Service was good and the staff friendly and helpful. The bedroom in the Coach House was spacious and very comfortable with excellent views. We shall return. Ian & Sue

This was a return visit to one of our favourite hotels and we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, all the staff that we came in contact with were friendly and efficient. As expected, the accommodation very comfortable. We look forward to our next visit!

My husband and I stayed here for Christmas 2021 and had an amazing 48 hours. The staff were excellent and very friendly and the service and food were 5 star. I would highly recommend a visit. I will certainly return in the summer so we can see the stunning view as it was very misty when we visited. We even took our dog. A memorable Christmas for all the right reasons.

A beautiful hotel, in a very relaxing environment. We visited over New Years and the staff were amazing, they were helpful and friendly. The food was incredible and beautifully presented. I am gluten free and every member of staff who took our food order was aware of this, the chef adjusted the meal to suit my dietary requirement. There are beautiful walks on the doorstep. A nice relaxing bar to come back to for a drink and snack. We would highly recommend this hotel, I would suggest for a romantic getaway, it’s terrific. A great big thank you to all the hard working staff here, nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Mr Mrs Gomez

Stayed at the Cottage in the Woods on a New Year package dining break. Our room (No 21) was really spacious and comfortable with wonderful views. The food was quite imaginative and well prepared but I felt the wine list, which was extensive, was overpriced. I ordered a 2019 Sancerre and was given a bottle of 2020. I'm nit-picking a bit but at their prices attention to detail is important. Service was very good and the staff were unfailingly pleasant and polite. No real complaints, except that our room wasn't cleaned one day and the tables in the dining room were a tad close together. I'd recommend the Cottage in the Woods but be prepared to pay up.
